Hey you filthy savages that cling to the mercenary name, why aren't there any pirate corporations in Dust 514? We have pirates in EVE Online and they add a whole level of depth to the game. Most certainly we can have pirates, no? Corporations that rip a district from your cold corporate hands and sell it to the next buyer or someone willing to buy it. They could even build up the clones for a while and then sell them before actually selling the district to get extra money.
I can think of one deterrent...a costly engagement with a bigger corporation such as....The Generals of the Eon alliance. Well pirates are the filthiest of you filthy savages so they can exploit someone else's engagement with The Generals and strike at the opportune moment to take land from them and make a profit by selling to another corporation, building up clones to sell it(if they get the time to do so), or reach over to grab a nearby district for an even bigger profit. It sounds like an extremely fun career path for a mercenary and possibly a lucrative business if done right.
We need some actual trouble makers and evil-doers. I, sadly, do not have the heart for it however I'm sure there are a many mercenaries who are more than okay with doing it. |

Obviously Dust is it's own game and people know that but a lot of us came here for a MMO FPS that shares some elements... I'm personally tired of overdressed clans being called corporations when they should actually be corporations who influence the market and try to gain income... But all we have are corporations who want to be king of the hill. |

I do. It's what everyone, save a few(Dust Uni and Militaries Sans Frontieres). If you ask the majority of corpotatuons(small corps included) they won't have a solid idea if what they want to do in Dust. Gain districts? Sure but what's after that? PC, from my perspective, is to be a stepping stone into bigger meta game and economic activities.
Edit: my examples of non-clan corporations is not limited to those two corps, |
