Hello Guys,
I just recently, today, acquired a video capture device. I am making videos of plasma cannons since it's what I mostly use. I made my first montage after two or three rounds of footage gathering. It's just a couple of kills but there will be more to come.
I currently have Plasma Cannon operation level 5 and proficiency 4. Mostly just use the regular one because I'm cheap as dirt but occasionally use ADV or proto if I'm too mad. I admit that when there is a very hard proto stomp against me I ussually bring out my mass driver, but that is because of the duvolle fire and mass driver bombardment against me. Please dont judge me for bringing my MD out on future vids xD.

I also love my plasma canon but are only using it 20-30% of the time, your post makes me want to use it more. I have proficiency 3 and usually run with the proto plasma canon and two complex damage mods. Needed to get the splash damage high enough to kill militia starter outfits. The armor buff however often leaves the milita dudes with a sliver of health after being hit by the splash, need to skill up the proficiency for more damage.
Allmost took out a Madruagar the other day, he could not see me after the scanning updates. And the proto plasma with damage mods deals allot of damage, sadly he ended up backing into me, saw me on tacnet and ran away with only about 200-300 armor left. Need my reloading skills updated. |

Protip cause I like you:
Hit the sprint button about 3/5s into the reload animation (3/5s of the progress bar down in the lower right), and it will complete the reload faster. It might be a little after that, but you can always base it on the animation itself too. This little trick works 10x better than the reload skill that wastes sp.

Ballistics physics just like the MD. I've tried the PC and I wish it did have AA. |

I know it doesn't have aim-assist, i use one myself. But i didn't realize that the projectiles bended so much in the air, to i saw that video. |

Plasma cannons do not have aim assist although the splash takes care of that for close combat. Ranged combat is really really frustrating because people can move lazily to the left and you miss no matter how goo you lead them. Vehicles are a bit easier to hit because of momentum. They usually end up hitting your projectile if they are moving forward and cannot change direction all too good.
Am currently encoding a quick ambush I just did. No edit on it; it about 8 mins long but it's all there; horrible shots and all.

The second and third are KLA-90 shot if I'm not mistaken. I know 2 of the kills in the vid were. If you guys want I can have some allotek footage but that one is going to have to wait. I have class in two hours and wont be able to play for about 12 to 24 hours

I meant that they didn't seem to bend or be out of the ordinary shots to me. The plasma cannon can have some issues with firing at times (instant shots that do no damage, delays between the charge and the actual shot etc.) which may explain the confusion. |

I used the PLC a lot in 1.3 but I'm having way less success with it in 1.4, I have no idea why, it just feels that sometimes the projectile hits and kind of fizzles/disappears without causing much harm.
Am I the only one? |

It's always been iffy at best but it does feel a little worse in 1.4 |

Am I the only one? i was having the same issue, but then i was able to get some elevation on some low rooftops about about 25 meters off the ground, and the PC suddenly hit its golden era. when i can track targets from above, and predict their movements based on chokepoints and walkways in a city enviroment, the PC shines on a whole new level. |

Don;t know if it's a bug but the Plasma cannon does less damage the farther it is from the target. Unlike the mass driver that does full damage till the end of the radius, the plasma cannon tapers away so it's actually a smaller damage radius than what the users manual tells us.
That's just what I've noticed. It doesn't happen always, but enough so that it's always in your mind when engaging a target. |

you are not the only one, happened to me a few times too. the projectile also sometimes flies through suits without exploding, the worst case that happened to me is two days ago, I fired the PLC in a chokepoint just to see it flying throug THREE suits without exploding.
but I think the biggest problem is still the small splash area and the long delay after firing which disables weapon switch. you are basically without any defense for 2 or more seconds till you can switch weapon or manage to reload which is a death sentence if you dont score a direct hit. |

Seems to happen allot, or for example I was using this yesterday and I fired on a LAV saw the round land directly on the LAV and it took no damage I had to get within spitting distance of it for damage to register. In the same game I managed to kill a LAV driver but somehow the LAV itself took no damage and even if I hit the driver dead on the splash should have hurt the LAV atleast a little.
Also to OP good work keep it up and try and capture the weird bugs this gun gets as well see if we can get this beauty fixed. I can only think of one other person besides yourself I see using this gun regularly most just tinker with it when bored so its nice to see someone trying to get this gun some attention. |

Maybe a manual reload can help! You have to press the reload button to reload when you want, that way you can switch to a sidearm after firing the PLC. |

I think it suffers from some of the same glitch as small missile turrets and the flaylock. MD suffers from it too, but ~5% of the time compared to how bad it was at the start of Uprising. |
