For any sniper that says "killing X enemies isn't useless". Yes it is. In a game where the enemy can just keep respawning, kills are worthless. Kill all the enemies you want, unless we clone them you were useless. Most matches are won with MCC destruction, not kills.
The only snipers I have much respect for are the Tac Snipers that get up near the battles(obviously not in them, but not 250m away on a mountain), and ones that provide overwatch with a mic, or (even better) a flux scanner.

At the moment snipers dont have many roles to fill other than killing!! This is not there fault they need new equipment modules and abilities to help the squad, besides snipers can make great assests, when deployed and used effectively, snipers work best in 3's 2 for the team down below and 1 countersniper!! I regularly run with a sniper, grease spillet, from my alliance, he has more tactical advantages without firing a shot!! Besides if I have a guardian angel I feel much better knowing he has a sniper rifle!!
