... are not nearly as bad as people are making them out to be.
Hi, I'm TheAmazing FlyingPig. You've probably flamed me in another thread for voicing an unpopular opinion. Well I'm here to tell you that this one is going to be no different! Scout suits, when played to their strengths (as everything should be), are actually a VERY fun suit to run and comes with built-in invisibility. In every round I have played, I have yet to go below a 1.0 K/D ratio.
Anyways, here's my fit:
'Dragonfly' Scout [nSv]
Militia Shotgun BPO Militia Armor Repairer BPO Militia Cardiac Regulator BPO Militia Locus Grenade BPO Militia Shield Extender BPO (soon to be swapped) Active Scanner
Being a tanker, my core suit skills are garbage, so I left the sidearm slot open. This fit costs me 600 ISK to run, and has wrecked the backs of many heads. The Active Scanner lets me peek around corners without revealing my frail body to gunfire, allowing me to pick and choose my engagements. Two redberries facing me? Nope. Two redberries shooting at someone else? +50 +50.
I've seen how people use their scout suits, and it is just downright suicidal. It is a speed / stealth suit. Stop running with the mass of blueberries into the mass of redberries expecting to do barrel rolls through gunfire and see just how well the aim assist helps your enemies when they never even know you're there, sitting behind them with a shotgun, whispering sweet nothings into their ear as you gently kiss the back of their neck...
TL;DR - You're doing it wrong. My Militia fit and garbage skills are, in a bad game, getting me 1.0 K/D. |

I've tried running with an AR, but I find myself more often than not breathing down the redberry's neck. I'd rather do one and done than make all that noise spraying. |

Very true. On maps not well suited for this playstyle, I run ADV Logi. |

Korvin Lomont wrote:looks fine I only have three problems with that combo. 1. hit detection of the Shot gun is still a bit strange 2. you are not as stealthy as you may think the advanced scanner will find you unless you put more than three million SP in profile dampening. 3. speed won't help you much on the escaping side thanks to improved hit detection and AA But I am happy that this works for you I haven't really seen any problems landing hits with my shotty. I know it was an issue right when 1.4 landed, but it seems to have been sorted out.
The people I hunt very rarely use scanners. It's apparently all about nanohives all day, er'ry day (which is fine by me). If I get scanned, then so be it. I get the warning and I high-tail it out of there. I'm a ninja, not a brawler.
As for speed, I don't show myself unless I have a plan of attack ready to go. A bit of looking around means that they won't have the chance to put the aim assist to use. "So leik, I'm stuck behind a box. Thar be hillz over 'dar..." *Runs out from behind box, loops around back of hill, 360 no scope swan dive last kill headshot*. Environmental awareness helps a lot in setting up ambushes and avoiding fights you don't want to be in. |

I like how this thread quickly dropped off of the face of the earth while a steaming pile of more whine took its place. |

Did I mention my core skills are, at most, to level 2, shotguns 1, nothing in biotics, and all of my SP is in tanks? |
