With everybody talking about how OP the aim assist is, I would really like to see a video of somebody using sticks (with or without aim assist!) and having near perfect aim and tracking.
I have asked for video proof that this is achievable (at a level similar to high skilled mouse play) several times now, and never received a response. Now with aim assist supposedly making aiming dead easy, it should be really simple to provide this proof, no?
I'm not trying to be a ****, I'm really curious and want to see this.
I'm not talking about controlled testing of the aim assist, or one-off shots, but aiming in actual gameplay.
There are people who claim that with AA, the game requires no skill anymore. If that is true, everybody (or at least many) should have perfect aiming. Unless I see proof of it, I just can't take that kind of statement seriously. |

Michael Arck wrote:So you haven't seen that video clip of some Russian guys who show you how AA really works? He shows its off for the first few minutes and then turns it on and show how it tracks only a little bit...
Maybe it's on the second page of this forum...
Like I said, I'm not looking for a demonstration of how aim assist works. I am looking for a video of somebody aiming near perfectly (at least comparable to a good mouse player) during actual gameplay. Since it is always insinuated that this is really easy to do now, it shouldn't be that hard to create some evidence?
It doesn't have to be recorded with a capture card, a decent phone recording would be better than nothing. |

Unless I see proof of it, I just can't take that kind of statement seriously. After watching JonnPew's channel, he's pretty good with the DS3. His vids are pre 1.4 though, so often times his hits look way off due to the ****** hit detection. I know there are good trackers though, some people just have the skills. I sure don't. Even with AA, I still prefer the MD
I just watched his video "My Passion for Competitive Shooters [..]". I liked it, I actually feel much the same way about DUST, I'm often quite conflicted, and sometimes I feel the urge to aim for something more competitive, but then I have to remind myself that I just don't have the time for it anymore...
Anyway, his aiming really is decent, and for a stick user I find it impressive. But it's still pretty shaky, and nothing that would make a mouse user tremble. It would be very interesting to see if and how much he would be improved with aim assist.
Also, now I feel like trying out the tac AR. :) |

You got me, I'm a mouse user who badly wants to uphold AA, so the game becomes harder for me.
I guess ad hominems are easier after all than answering a request for actual evidence. |

So, your logic is then that if aiming and tracking w/o AA is not really easy ppl should not play w/o AA. Because playing competitive games is obviously about maximizing ease and minimizing challenge.
Don't know what you are on about, I'm asking for evidence that it's easy with aim assist. Although videos without aim assist would be fine too, of course... I'd just like to see actual evidence that it's possible to achieve the kind of near-perfect aiming (which people claim is all so common now) consistently with sticks.
I'm not making a point, I just want to know the truth. Is that really so unreasonable? If aim assist is really that strong, it should be in everybody's interest to show what it's truly capable of. Instead, all I get is words and distractions. That says a lot right there. |
