Skill into an Assault Rifle, and a medium suit.
Not before kissing your heavy arse goodbye.
The suit sucks, the HMG sucks. Assault rifles are the **** now in CQC, so are Scrambler Rifles. Nothing was buffed or nerfed. Only hit detection got better and aiming got better. Having the hitbox of an LAV, and AA enabled, NOBODY is going to miss a heavy lol.
So that's how to adapt guys

HMG still kicks ass, just the problem of closing the distance is more obvious now. |

Still doing fine.
Dying a few more times I guess but still racking up decent numbers.
I adapted by stacking armour again instead of reps & cardio. |

HMGs had their days in the sun. Chromosome was awesome, Uprising 1.0 was crap for a few weeks, then they were alright up until 1.4.
Having allot more fun with ARs and SRs now. If you have fun playing HMGs then by all means. In my experience with both classes, AR >>>>>>>> HMG |

Hit detection improved and AA got turned on for heavies too. I don't play heavy (except the occasional Dren sentinal fit for fun) but when you turn that corner to get to an objective and a heavy with an HMG is there you are dead period and that is as it should be. Yes they are less versatile than a medium frame suit but heavies still terrify me.
Option 2 for sentinels, get a laser rifle and **** face from mid to long range. I have 0 skills in lasers or heavy suits but even I do pretty well with my Dren and a Burnstalk |

ACTUALLY HEAVIES, there still is a solution. I had one friend on mine mod his heavy for ''High'' Mobility (ADV sentinel with Kin cat, cardiac reg or ferroscale or enhanced plate, armpr rep, high p slot Cx Shield extender) and equipped a laser rifle on it with ADV assault SMG.
You'd be surprised.... |

Stacking full on armor plates with a core focused rep tool sitting on you and any amount of cover/cqc is pretty awesome though... |

To adept as a heavy. Dont run in the open. cover is your friend. If its an open map we are done for. Camp a point inside or get an AR. |

Hmg heavies are forced to play the game more tactfully now flanking and closing gaps is much more difficult so use your fatsuit where it's supposed to be used get there quickly and quietly and don't stand in a open field like a dumbass |

I like how people assume that heavies have ever really been OP (WTE of the first build) If some one has been running a heavy or scout suit from day one don't taunt them into to play an assault, they will kick your ass ten ways from sunday. I mean these guys have been making almost continuously broken suits work, imagine what they could do with the continuously strongest suits. |

Even I'll admit that the new maps are pretty challenging for Heavy playstyle. The objectives are very HMG campable, but that gets old. The new ambush maps are very open, and lack enough high ground for Forge Gun to excel. I haven't quite figured them out yet. (I still dig them, though.)
That said, Communications, Biomass, and even the Ashland map remain an HMG playground. In cover-dense installations it's the same murder hose it has always been. |

AT playing solo, yeah.
But i have also a heavy loadout,not even maxed out and sometimes run with my corp bros that also play heavy....
Call in LAV.
3 Heavies in.
Go for X objective, Fast surprise attack with HMGs....
HMG does not do much, 3 HMG is uber obliveration XD
It does not work vs ELITE players,but its fun to use this kind of blitzkrieg fatty attack and suprirse people..... |

LOL I am provisiont In both PROTO Heavies and Caldari Assault ....and lemme tell you I enjoy Heavies as much as assault...Heavies kick ass in close proximity ..end of the story ! |
