Is it a song from EVE that is included in the EVE SoundCloud? ( https://soundcloud.com/ccpgames/sets/eve-online-in-game-tracks )
I love that song, and I really want to find it. I could link a video of an old closed beta gameplay, but I'm worried it will be seen by devs and taken down (non-disclosure agreement still applies to pre-open beta footage). Anyway, can someone tell me the name of the song that played during battles?

EDIT: I do like that song though.
I think Earworm may know. When he changed the AR and shotgun sounds, he changed the battle music.

I think that it was the battle theme that played during Chromosome and possibly whatever patch was before Chromosome.

Also, aaaaaah, the feels! I remember that old intro music. I remember wondering why, when I had finally found "A Surplus of Rare Artifacts," it just sounded... off. Wrong, somehow.

Apparently my version came second, so that was the one that was "off." Ah, well.

It was good as long as the action fit the mood, which unfortunately it didn't always. and it was short, done in repetitive loops.

I think Dust would have been best served if the music engine was dynamic enough that it would change when the action picked up. The music itself is barren enough that it could easily be altered depending on whats going on.

Very few games use a truly dynamic music engine though. It is becoming a lost practice :(

I think that a lot of FPS games (BF3, TF2 not sure about others) just opt out of the music entirely (aside from menus) because it's so hard to predict what the player is feeling at the moment.

I hated the old battle music because I consistently confused it with in game actions.

While listening to the songs posted in this thread I realized that I now miss them _a lot_ while playing Dust. Would it be possible to include a 'track manager' in Dust? Or at least some way of listening to all the different songs in-game?

The music is great so I am wondering where to put the +1s? Maybe we can have a forum about Dust music like we do the maps?

So.... Kagehoshi.... since you said he got it to you on twitter.... you feel like sharing it with us here? I'd certainly like to add it to my playlists, and Uncle Baal's too old to be f'n wit dem tweets. I can googlefoo how to learn hexidecimal and rewrite scripts to edit Roms for remaking classic games for emulation (in fact, I'm playing with a FF6 remake of FF7 atm in my spare time =D), but I can't be arsed to learn the in's and out's of social networking sites I have no interest in.
