I wouldn't agree to the overheat, but drop the mag size, you dont need 60 rnds your an AR not an LSW, and then 10% less damage. On a more fun note, you could have a 0.07% chance to jam with every bullet, requires a reload to fix!! |

True but that can be countered bu giving the AScR faster over heat longer cool down, it already has a larger mag doesn't it?? |

Sure there are ways to balance this but you have to do a lot of balance work :). In Dust right now all High Rof weapons have a large clip what makes sense in some way. If you want to change that you could lower the clip zize on all HROF weapons or you need other ways to balance that. I think its easier to give the GAR its intended role: High DPS short Range that would seperate the GAR more from the other weapons. In theorie the GAR should be the most efficient Assault rifle in Dust as according o CCP the assault tree is the strenght of the gallente. Nerfing the hell out of it and keeping all the other variant untouched is wrong...
Of course, its only a placeholder at mo anyway. |

Kgb is right fella's there are plenty of other things that can be done, adding overheat to yet another weapon is unneeded and unnecessary!! What needs to happen is that the GAR (Gallante Assault Rifle) or Blaster Rifle or Plasma Blaster or what ever you guys want to call it is no longer a place holder rifle. However this can't be done yet because the combat and rail aren't out, but there are weapons in 1.5 so??
Now if they are indeed both rifles, then the racial profiles can be properly set up.
Gallante - HROF, HDPS, 15m optimal Minmatar - HROF, MDPS, 30m optimal Amarr - MROF, MDPS, 50m optimal Caldari - LROF, HDPS, 70m optimal
Then all rifles will attempt to mimic each other, but still stay true to these core values!! Thats how it ought to be!! |

I am not sure but the Caldari Rifle should have High Alpha damage with low Rof giving it medium to low overall dps. A high dps weapon with high range seem wrong to me. Regarding your Range table 15m is less than the range of a smg right now... I guess the following would fit better: Gallante - HROF, HDPS, 30m optimal Minmatar - HROF, MDPS, 45m optimal Amarr - MROF, MDPS, 60m optimal Caldari - LROF, LDPS, 75m optimal
Fair enough, Im just throwing the idea out there, it makes more sense but low rof and low damage a shot at least medium? J The galante either needs a little less range or or a very quick fall off, otherwise it will still remain a bit to powerful!! |
