The gameplay hasn't been fun for me since Uprising was first deployed and now it is finally getting better...
I must admit, Patch 1.4 is awesome. Good job, CCP.
Please keep up the good work, I am looking look forward to patch 1.5 and beyond...
I know this feedback isn't constructive and I expect this thread to fade into obscurity unacknowledged, but even so, I'd like to acknowledge how much I liked 1.4 |

Not into obscurity, Indy. I for one congratulate you for reminding us what Feedback is supposed to look like. And I am not the only one who agrees with your overall impression of Patch 1.4 (others have given dynamite praises, though unfortunately not in the most expected threads, so paybe they will land their posts here too).
I am not an EVE Online player or great fan, but I like the way 1.4 is introducing the screens that pull together onto one menu the sort of New Eden connections the devs want us to fit into our minds (and maybe ultimately influence our future alliance decisions).
There are also lesser-mentioned improvements that of course will be overlooked or disregarded, but really tighten up Dust's intention to be detailed about New Eden's combat technology:
--The increased ZOOM of the spawn map now gets close enough that you can identify enemy vehicles with just your eye long before your personal modules are near enough scan them... you can "follow" their movement to plan an ambush.
--The "civilian style" facility maps are not only seductive in appearance (got many players already requesting that some of those doors open and permit exploration), but they are arranged with LoS and wide open pitfalls that are perfectly in keeping with non-military, hard to take, terrains.
--Queing in the battle contract menu allows further racial bias in players (perfectly appropriate within the societies and corps driving New Eden), and you can "filter" out the races you don't want to be hired by.
--The "polished" look of all the NeoCom screens and module wheels may not stack up to being as VITAL as some of the things players are requesting, but God Bless CCP for wanting to focus on EVERY possible element on their game. The polish makes every change you activate with your controller look so,... "Confident and Cool"
Patch 1.4 is Dust 514 finally bringing a lot of CONFIDENCE.
Thanks for the thread, Indy! |
