I keep playing because I met some pretty cool people on Dust514.
They tolerate me when I am drunk and we always have a good laugh (at CCP's expense or in general).
The game mechanics are a little bit of a problem but if I can drink/laugh/play with decent folks then I will continue to do so.
Anyone else out there feel the same way?

yes, except if you don't like the game you can just move on to the next one with the whole crew. so, this is not a validation of dust in itself. |

yes, except if you don't like the game you can just move on to the next one with the whole crew. so, this is not a validation of dust in itself.
Quite the contrary, I played COD and hated just about everyone I met. Same with Halo.
In general I find the group of people sticking around and the community a good reason to stay. |

I only meet one cool clan in CoD ever... they kicked me out because I was mean to the other teams and people where lodging complaints against me for playing the game with 'unsportsmanlike conduct' which confused the hell out of me considering I never teabag anyone, I don't camp and I don't lame.
In halo I had people threaten to skin me or accuse me of being a furry. |

Sounds like par for the course in Halo.
The thing I find most of the time is unless I mute everyone in Halo and CoD, I wind up getting depressed about the future of the human race.
But it might also be that I am an old school gamer, the ones that got teased in the era when nerds had not taken over the world. |

least you didn't get a 6 month BAN from SONY. Had a lot of time to reflect with that one.

Yup. From QB over science major in HS. To marines over college. I've always been very competitive by nature, But that incident with sony and some in Real Life has tamed me down quite a bit. I also admit I wouldn't have done it alone. to the ladies in my Real Life and those I've met in my hobby that is gaming. Hi. |
