Placing the weapon change button and the player list button next to each other is tantamount to granting KBM users an easy suicide. When we're running out of bullets in our main weapon, we're probably about to die. Suddenly being pulled into the player list because we mishit a key, means we do die. I probably take 4% of my deaths or so due to the Tab key.
At the very least, please make the Player List require you HOLD the Tab key in order to pull you out of your game and into that screen. Then we could safely mash Caps Lock, and not get killed for accidentally fat fingering Tab. |

Why can't CCP make the player list load fast and is easy to open/close, like any other FPS?
I can almost always take a quick look at the player list in BF3 in between engagements because it loads fast and I can always close it and get back to shooting.
In Dust, however, it takes a long time to load, and you have to wait for it to finish loading before you can close it. I think this needs to be addressed. |

This happens to me all the time. Just make it so tab needs to be pressed down for a couple seconds |

Another option, provided it be capable of loading faster, would be for tab to make it pop up momentarily, but disappear as soon as you released the tab key. That way, accidentally hitting it would only make it appear momentarily, without drastically impeding playability. |

More to the OP's point, we need the ability to remap keys and mouse buttons. |

This would be nice. But I'm starting small. All I need for now is the Tab key to not kill me every day. |

You do realize that you can press the scroll wheel button on your mouse for weapon/equipment selection or srollup/down to switch weapons?
I do agree with you that customizable controls are needed. |

That would be unfair to controller users, not to mention it would be harder to get a kill. Controller users have to go through the trouble of opening their neocom just to commit suicide. |

Yup, I haven't had tab key on my dust keyboard for 11 months.

I do agree with you that customizable controls are needed.
Scroll wheel's usefulness depends much more on what mouse you're using. I find that control way too touchy. I die every time I attempt to switch weapons with a mouse. With Caps Lock, I only die during weapon switch if I fat finger the Tab key. |
