Everything ... except for the Plasma Cannon. I seem to have forgotten the Plasma Cannon. Oops. I will add it in later today. |

Edit: Added the Plasma Cannon and included race and type for each weapon.

Well, hopefully I captured that in my description.
Plasma Cannon (PlC): Gallente, Hybrid: Plasma This love child of a shotgun and a forge gun shoots a ball of plasma that does devastating damage. However the plasma ball is slow moving compared to most projectiles, making it hard to hit fast moving LAVGÇÖs and Dropships. You can certainly get a TankGÇÖs attention with one though, and you can one shot a mercenary, or even a tight cluster of mercenaries in a confined space. This weapon would likely be considered overpowered if it was not for the fact that it has to be reloaded after every shot. Because of this it was considered underpowered when it was released, but since then some have taken to the weapon. It is not overly popular, but those who like it, like it a lot. Plasma cannon guide(how to make it work)

Sooo.....much.....info..... but still a great in-depth guide. I wish I had this to go by when I first started. To bad there is no way to summarize it, but that would probably get rid of some important information. For your efforts heres some +1's
EDIT: great idea for the Index btw. |

Helping new players learn the game is a large part of what I do, and what my Corp is designed to do. Part of that for me has been writing the textbooks so to speak.
Although there were some bits and pieces around, no one had written a comprehensive guide for players using medium frame suits on the front lines, which is basically the vast majority of players. This was a big gap. After tackling this myself I can see why no one had done it before. It took me nearly a month to put together.
I felt I had to add an index for something this large. I just wish I could setup the links to make your current browser jump to the post rather than opening a new browser window.
For members of my Corporation I mail out one section of the guide in a Corp mail each day so they can read it in small manageable chunks over 25 days. It is a good way to get to the players who donGÇÖt read the forums.

Impressive writing. Just a quick one. I disagree on the below:
"Hybrid Fits: The most common hybrid fits are to fit an armour repair on a shield tanked suit, or to mix Damage Modifiers with Shield Extenders. Speed modules might be used to help compensate for the slowness of an Armour Tanked fit, or used to enhance another fit. Advanced and Proto suits have more slots available, so they lend themselves more to hybrid fits."
A hybrid fit wouldnt be an armour repair for me. it would be a basic armour plate on a caldari medium suit. For example,
Caladari Adv.
High slots: 3 complex extenders Low Slots: basic armour plate, armour repairer.
(personally a repairer is essential for any suit that doesn't have one built in.) |
