I don't based it on models, I'm basing it off their respective culture. Also 20% of Americans are of German heritage, which is the largest ethnic group in the US (it used to be 50%+ though) |

American Japanese hybrid, RL Japanese corporations favored passing down rule/ownership from heir to heir (was expected, the norm, not seen as corrupt), American Corporations did not and spouted more meritocentric ideals.
Edit:
Also Japanese Corporate Culture was entirely borrowed from American Corporate Culture, there are still differences though. |

Caldari Mega corps are or were primarily passed down through heirs, corporate meritocracy was only recently brought back by Heth during his time of control
Unless I am mistaken, the order was meritocracy, nepotism, back to meritocracy, with nepotism being a smaller part of their history. |

Germany is a third world country now?
LOL!
Germany is not a third world country, history and culture are two different things, a lot of Minmatar ships have germanic names, and the people I labeled as German fit the 20th century German stereotype. |

xxwhitedevilxx M wrote:True Amarr old italians?? .... You mean Ancient Romans, right? what does it even mean old italians?
Rome conquered its neighboring regions / city states to eventually control a large portion of Italy (and eventually much further), the Amarr became the Amarr after their dominance on the planet, the whole Amarr empire is the Roman Empire (ancient rome). The original Amarr are the Ancient Italians of Rome. Its my arbitrary distinction between the two. |

Jaysyn Larrisen wrote:Interesting OP.
I always thought the Amarr were an extension or extreme extrapolation of a conservative religious American culture.
The Amarr and Caldari do represent right wing politics, while the Minmatar and Gallente represent left wing politics as it is viewed in the Western world.
Religion + Capitalism vs Hedonism + Ethnocentrism

Caldari have strong Japanese culture survived the gate collapse so they're very likely japanese. Many of the main line caldari naval orders are named by various japanese blades, as are mordu legion. Most governments or ideals of them did not survive the collapse at all. While concepts are familiar the traits in each of them are drastically different enough you cannot really compare them to anything on earth. For example there is no country in existence on earth yet or has that mimics the caldari order. While there are many traits embodied by the caldari that can be found in many other governments and cultures there is nothing that comes close to where something like Nasdaq board runs the entire nation. Same goes for the Amarrians, Gallente, and Matar. Most of those are bastardizations of what we're familiar with with a splash of differences between what we know. This however is very great for fiction as it allows holes to be filled in due time.
If you are going entirely based on nomenclature you are going to end up with different results, if that is the metric used the Minmatar might as well simply be stamped as the Nords, but that would be missing a large part of what constitutes them. The creation of the Caldari strikes a lot a lot of similarities to Early America, from breaking away from a European based power, to the founding corporations as the founding states of the US, with prolong issues of centralization of power/economics over the years, similar to the Federalists vs Republican conflict that occurred in the US. You can even compare . My point is that there way to many parallels between American history and Caldari history.
Also the Japanese who came later into the fold as American allies and their Americanization parallels the Achura arriving later at the Caldari's foodsteps. While I am not denying the Japanese influence, I'm just saying that it is not the only influence that the Caldari was based on, and in fact early Caldari history is in fact American. |
