Is anyone thinking about running for CPM1? If so how should we vote on them? With free accounts I don't see how we can have a free and fair election. I am very curious to see how CCP plans to work this out. EVE is a paid subscription - either money or plex - and every one gets a vote. With the ability to make as many accouts as we want voter fraud will probably run rampant. Just been thinking about how it would work and would like to put it to the community for their views. I don't remember seeing a thread like this so sorry if it is a duplicate. |

We need representation from all aspects. Who are we to tell anyone that their play style is wrong? All parts of EVE are needed and high sec is no different. I carebeared around for a while, low seced it and now I live in null. I will have to say that null is the easiest place to be if you are in a decent corp. With that said I still think null pilots are a valued viewpoint just like high sec pilots are. No part of the game should be under represented because without a balanced area of play we will never have the numbers we want. |

I would like to see the MAC address used. I own two PS3s but at least it would limit me to two. Something will need to be done. |

They should use the console ID because to spoof that you need another ps3's console ID and a hacked ps3 (Which means the console will be banned pretty quickly by Sony)
MAC addresses cannot be changed they are hard coded into everything with an internet connection. Routers can clone MAC addresses but not can be changed. They are different for every device forever. MAC |

I think a technique like the one use to elect the CSM would be a good nomination setup but the election might be difficult. |

You'd probably have to have a dust Acct to get in the CPM Oh yes hes competent, but hes also a crude, viscious horrible person, perfect for eve really. He did tell someone to go kill himself on a live stream right in front of the sony devs.
Bad form, it wasn't totally like that. There was a lot of bad press about something that was blown out of proportion. |

The video of what was said. The apology on the forum. All people make mistakes especially when drunk, have power (real or not) and laughing with frineds. It isn't as bad as it seemed to be and with cyber bulling being such a hot topic at the time the outrage was a little much. It was made in while making fun a QQ post and I would bet that many of us have made or will make the same mistake. |

Well yeah joking around with friends and stuff, thats fine, difference is he was on a live stream with sony developers in the auidence (the dust forum was right before the eve forum) That is what got ccp so pissed at him and made them remove him from the CSM.
I totally agree that is was in bad form and he should have thought about what he was saying and how it would make him look but we shouldn't totally write him off as a bad person. I don't condone what he did but taking it out of context is just as bad as saying it. He took his punishment and apologized. That is enough for me because I do believe he learned his lesson. With that said I do believe that is a tyrant in game and gets what he deserves in game. |

Pay to vote isn't a good fix or way of doing things. We need a free way to do it. |

Paying accounts ( money or plex) not paying to vote. The game makes you pay to play so paying for a vote is the only way to have access to the game. There are no "free" accounts like on DUST. |

There are no "free" accounts like on DUST. yes, but through either plex or aurum you must pay to keep that account active and thus allow you to vote. one way or another you need to pay to vote, you might of played eve for 8 years, if you stop paying you lose your right to vote, and if you pay for 5 or 6 accounts you can vote 6 times that's pay to vote. aurum seems like an equally valid method to gauge legit /active users by, if you combine that with time played in say the last 2 months, you got methods that should prevent/hinder people from creating 3 dozen accounts, which is the only issue with voting atm.
In EVE it works because you have to have an active account to vote. In DUST all it takes is a PS3 and an internet connection. Only allowing someone to vote whom has bought AUR is going to disenfranchise a lot of the population. That isn't fair to the people that don't want to pay or can't pay. It has to be fair or not at all. |

VOTER ELIGIBILITY Any active EVE Online account that is at least a full thirty (30) days in age is eligible to vote. Only one vote per accountGÇönot per characterGÇöis permitted. Thethirty-day account exclusion rule is to limit undue metagaming influence in the election, and is in line with the precepts of a modern democracy that imposes a minimum age for voting privileges. The only exclusion rule for voting is CCP employee accounts, which are ineligible. Affiliates, volunteers, partners, and interns are permitted to vote.
Yes, people buy plex with RL money and then sell them on the market. Pilots with ISK can then buy PLEX and use it to buy AUR or game time. Either way the PLEX is paid for with real money. But it doesn't matter how the account was funded as long as it has been active for 30 days so one character can vote. It is pay to vote because the game is pay to play. DUST is free to play and therefore we should not have to pay to vote. |
