because of the low requirement of basic plates i dont think this is possable.
every single build will resort to fitting as many basic plates as possable for sheer HP buffer.
if you build it, the players will abuse it.
different suit builds like the old type A type B setup would be a more balanced aproch to this, but this was already covered in the placeholder model discussion and the devs decided they diddnt want to do it.
as much as i believe a solution is needed, it seems like were not getting one. |

as much as i believe a solution is needed, it seems like were not getting one. You're right, 5H/5L would be overpowered for all suits, but not prototype. Edited OP.
im not overly familiar with heavys, since i hate amarr but they get more and more OP with every low slot you give them.
even shield heavys will stuff their low slots to the brim with basic plates.
unfortunatly i dont see a way to implement this in a way that wont be just a generalised HP buff to all heavys across the board.
complex extenders are hard to fit so they work in this scheme, more highs doesnt mean more extenders... it just wouldnt fit.
but i dont know a heavy who wouldnt find a way to squeese 10cpu and 1 pg to fit another basic plate on the thing untill all heavys have 5 of the damn things and 2 complex extenders
lets not forget about CPU and PG mods in those extra lows as well.
put 1 cpu and 1 PG mod in two of those lows and suddenly heavys have CRAPTONS of extra CPU and PG to go around resulting in
5x complex extender 1cpu 1pg 3 of the biggest plates you can fit
i like the idea though, im hoping you can think of a way to modify the original scheme to compensate. |

This would only be capable on the prototype suit. Even then, I don't think you would be able to fit the 5 complex extenders and still have enough CPU/PG to fit your weapons. If so, that is close to all you could fit even with the CPU/PG upgrades.
The reason is because the CPU is somewhat lacking on the Amarr Heavy Frames. They just weren't designed for CPU intensive fittings. The were designed for PG intensive fittings. You would probably be forced to use the CPU upgrades in order to "convert" it into a CPU intensive suit.
Working:
Amarr Heavy Proto with 1 comp. CPU/PG Upgrade: 340CPU 68PG
5 Comp Extenders 270CPU 55PG
that leaves 70CPU 13PG
So you would have to use another set of comp. CPU/PG Upgrades to fit your weapons/grenades and maybe a regulator.
This is exactly the type of thing I had in mind!
there is a worry that 5x damage mods may be a little bit much but seeing as the stacking penalties would remove 99% of the benifits and it would have to use most if not all of the lows for other stuff i think that ones good.
plug in 4x extenders and 5x basic plates with an ADV HMG.... i think it may just fit but im not sure
i dont think theres a way to be sure it cant be abused... someone will always find a way on something like this
hell thats one of the reasons the cal-logi was so damn OP to begin with just because of the massive health buffer it could achieve over other suits. on a heavy its not too much of a problem though as long as its reasonable.
im liking this more and more. |
