If I see a friendly LAV, it's near the spawn point I used, and looks to be heading towards somewhere I want to be, I'll jump in and man the turret, but when we get close to combat, I'll usually bail out and fight from the ground. If you turn away from the battle, I'll bail out and make my own way to where I'm going, because I was planning on providing fire support while you deliver me where I want to go. If you're not giving me what I want, I'm not helping you either. And that's fine. You want to be alone, I'll let you be alone.
If I see a friendly tank, I'll stay with the tank and if I have a Repair Tool, I'll use it to buff your reppers and help keep you alive. When you're still at a decent HP level, I'll also be doing what I can to help kill things (and I have some Turret skills, so I'm more useful as a gunner than some players). |

LIKE I SAID, as soon as you turn away from the battle, I'm ditching that seat and finding my own way. At that point, you can happily turn back towards the battle and go your own way as well. I won't jump back into your LAV if you've demonstrated a willingness to retreat on account of a passenger. I respect that you have your reasons not to trust me if you don't know who I am.
When I'm running one of my junk fit tanks, I happily leave it to go hack things while it's got blueberry gunners. Usually, I look back after hacking and it's not there any more. Sometimes, I get lucky and my gunner(s) didn't run away. Once I got to jump back into the tank as a gunner and the person who "stole" my tank actually handled it pretty well as driver. Another time I had someone jump into the driver's seat and cover me with my Large Turret, then jump back into the gunner's seat as I was coming back to join him.
If I'm driving something that's actually well-fitted, I don't get out of the driver's seat until it's empty and ready to be recalled. |

ALPHA DECRIPTER wrote:Hmm.. would be nice to get a waypoint to the vehicle owner whenever you get in the driver seat of a vehicle that doesn't belong to you (unless it belongs to the enemy of course) How about the option for the owner to broadcast their location to the vehicle. If there's a driver, they get a marker for the owners current location that lasts 10 seconds. If an enemy stole it, you give away your position. If not, you have a chance to get it back. |
