Map: Spine Crescent (http://wiki.dust514.info/index.php?title=Spine_Crescent) Time of the bug: last night 9/7 Game mode: Ambush
Invisible wall or something of the sort detected while trying to lock a militia swarm launcher on a tank that was on the bridge. I was standing on a platform on the northern storage area. It seemed that the invisible wall was pretty close to the rail of the elevated 2nd floor platform as I was able to lock on the tank if I was standing right on the rail, but moving few meters back as trying to evade tank fire didn't even give the red square on the very much and fully visible tank on the bridge. The invisible wall blocking the aim and preventing locking was close to the wall of the taller structure on the right side of the platform and it didn't extend fully over the platform as moving towards the edge to the left also brought back the red square on the tank and initiated locking sequence. |

Do you think you could provide screenshots of where it was or mark on the maps where exactly you were standing and where the tank was located? Also moved to the map forums CCP Logibro // EVE Universe Community Team // Distributor of Nanites // Patron Saint of Logistics

I was in E8 facing the bridge. Tank was on the bridge in F8/G8 fully visible to my location and trying to shoot me. The wall didn't seem to prevent the tank shooting me, but prevented the swarms locking on it.
The buildings on the E8 were the new ones with some sort of pipes laying around and wall going around the compound on the ground level and a platform on top of them.
I could try to take a photo of the position in the near future when I come across it again, but unfortunately now I don't have one. |

I've now encountered the same phenomenon on other maps with the new Lab buildings as well. It seems that the rails on the buildings (meaning the two iron bars that go around the platforms and elevated building levels etc.) regardless where they are prevent at least militia swarms from locking on a tank that that is on the street level. If there is even tiny fraction of such iron bar on the aims while trying to lock on a target there is no tracking audio nor proper hit box for the tank.
This makes it close to impossible to shoot swarms at a tanks as you cannot aim and lock on to a tank by aiming between the bars although you can see the tank completely. You actually have to walk right at the edge so that you can aim over the rails and this brings you fully exposed to all sort of fire that the enemy has around you.
I tried to catch a photo for you on this, but the enemy just got me killed several times while I was trying, so no photo, sorry. |
