the few who currently play, and who are complaining then who cares? We flush them out.
CCP won't cater to 1000 'hardcore' players over, lets say 5000 if they joined and stuck around because of aim assist.
Whether aim assist needs adjusted higher, lower, changed in it's methods or what have you is superfluous detail. If more players like it than not, and it is the standard set by every other AAA shooter than you can be sure it will be staying and iterated on. |

Aim assist isn't nearly as game breaking as people are trying to make it out to be, and if you observe who is actually complaining about it vs who are praising it, you'll notice a pretty hilarious trend. God forbid we help new players out at all. |

Good post, IX. +1
I agree that we should do (and/or accept) whatever it takes to keep our newcomers around.

The massive decrease in TTK has been rough. My KD really only suffered for about 3 games until I stopped and went "okay I'm doing something wrong. Things have changed." Since then I'm doing just as well, if not better.
Well, my scout suit has seen better days.
I've had much more fun coordinating attacks, ambushes, and with matches in general with the new patch. Now it's actually nerve racking to cross the street, not for fear of an LAV but of getting picked off before you can get to cover. It's made this immortal feel mortal. ;) |

Hopefully that logic works out for CCP, I agree they need to attract more console players (But they need to do it with out losing the vets) will those console players invest the time and money us vets have..?
CCP Has/Had us vets and a lot of us were paying on a monthly if not weekly basis, hopefully this new blood you speak of can muster up $5 off their mom and dads visa... |

At first I hated AA, but I adapted and I love the new feel of gameplay. Its so much more tense knowing that being ambushed by more than 1 player means almost certain death. |

Vets won't be going anywhere. You're already MMO riddled addicts. Any threat of leaving is empty, or at best temporary as everyone here knows.
Besides, people playing this game right now are not playing because it's good. They're playing because they believe it might be good in 6+ months or epic after a year or so. A little thing like aim assist won't be ruining their vision for Dust. Especially when you factor in every other game that uses AA to perhaps even greater degrees. Where was that lovely list somebody made linking youtube videos to Halo, Battle Front, CoD, etc. |

Dust 514 lost about 500 players do to 1.4 But I would say it's because the matchmaking was broken on patchday and it was almost impossible to get into matches. A shame. But now it works and you can actually do Faction Warfare. I guess with 1.5 we'll see more players. |

No Dust would be a solid, strategic/tactical FPS if I can run screaming and bleeding naked into an open field against 5 players and spray them all down with my Duv AR.

I generally like 1.4. (Sans Dropship camera, turret, and rendering problems. but CCP can't go a patch without slapping dropships around)
I'm not really playing till they patch squads to be able to consistently deploy together in the next few days. Lots of people got fed up with that and are just waiting it out |

So true. Just the other day I told myself I was going to quit. Wouldn't you know it, I woke up this morning and turned on the PS3... I can't quit. I still have hope, and the potential is still looming in the near future. I know where Eve started, and where it is today. I'd feel like **** if Dust does the same, I just hope it doesn't take 8 years like Eve, LOL!
As a Masshole, I don't really get the benefit of AA, but I sure did die a lot more at first release. But lately, I've been adjusting, making sure I'm exposed much less, and doing much better. Only lopsided teams bring me more then 3 deaths now.
Most of the AA whiners fail to mention the drastically improved hit detection. AA aside, the fact that the bullets actually register hits now is what kills you the quickest. My SMG has actually killed a few softened heavies lately. Before it was definitely a futile exchange... |

Riiight. Everyone is going to flock back off to the latest rehash of the same game they've been playing for 5 years.
Those are not even the people downloading Dust. And if they were, the reason they'd leave would be that dust is not anywhere near complete as a game. This is still a shell of a beta at best. |

Okay. See you in a year.
If anything kills dust it's going to be their timeline of getting stuff done after the setback of having to throw out every asset and piece of progress made under Carbon.

It's pretty solid, but to be honest I have not played much with any side arms to compare their usefulness / playstyles I tried using the Scrambler Pistol exclusively for a bit in Chromosome. And I tried the Flaylock when it was brand new. I've found the SMG best compliments my Scrambler Rifle. I've never held a Nova Knife, its too situational for a Logi to use as a PDW. |

Re the vets. Which of the following is true? A) CCP never listened to the vets anyway, thus they are used to being ignored (no change) B) CCP listened and catered to vets wishes which had Dust in such an awesome place that every day a new Dust us dead" thread was created by thus living community
