Buddy of mine uses KBD/M exclusively and hes a better killer than I am. Normally he goes 15/2 or some similar score line, dependent on enemies, as it always is. After 1.4 hes going 1/10 if hes lucky. So he tries out the PS3 controller with aim assist on, remember he hasn't used the controller for fighting with. Now he's going 10/1 and 15/4, that sort of score line. After a couple of matches. It is not even remotely just hit detection. Telling us to harden up when KBD/M have been screwed even more ... Wow.
sure your "friend" did this... video or it didn't happen...what I think?
youre a kb/m user and your salty cause the field got leveled so youre spreading BS in hopes CCP will hand you a tissue...

Yes, my friend, I can't use a PS3 controller at all. It is your sort of attitude that made so many of us leave D-UNI recently, but that is a story for another time. Leveled? I didn't realise that controller guys were having trouble killing people to the point that they needed training wheels. But hey, whatever, I'm sure that you don't use AA at all and it's not an issue for you. So if Aim Assist is not actually helping then perhaps both KBD/M users and controller users could have it, at differing levels of stickiness dependent on perceived or (gasp) measured bonus? Or AA could be completely turned off after people get out of academy? Both control methods have pros and cons. If KBD/M is so awesome it will only cost you a couple of dollars for a set ..... I haven't heard any corps mandating that their top tier players use KBD/M? Perhaps I'm not as well informed as some? If they are so good why are you crazy people persisting in using the stupid controller?? I'm surprised with the willingness for everyone to jump in to the FOTM with both boots that everyone is not using KBD/M by now. And yes, I'm adapting, thank you for your shouted concern, so kind of you.
lol the uni did nothing but teach you all how to play this game and you returned that favor with bitterness and deceit...
of course, we train because that's what we like to do and don't ask for anything in return, your welcome for that...
you say we have a bad attitude because I express my opinion, that's just ridiculous....
the fact of the matter is a lot of you had poor attitudes, couldn't follow the rules and got salty when you were reprimanded, you out grew the corp and were not in line with our goals and philosophies.
I wish you well on your future endeavors and im saddened that you feel this way, but the truth is that twice as many come to the corp everyday for those that left in one and a second thought isn't even given to those departed...
we did our jobs, we trained you and you went on to new corps, that's what we do and although in the case of your tiny group that left was on bad terms we still succeeded in our duties... its a shame you feel the need to trash those that helped you, but it just shows everyone else the kind of person you really are, the kind who would spit in the face of ones who extended a helping hand and gave you a home....
good luck out there o7 |

Bitterness and decipt? I decided to move on of my own free will without any prompting from the people who left before me and find out I'm not allowed into public chat because apparently I'm obviously a deceitful evil person. So in that case there was an assumption that I was bad, no one asked me why I left, like anyone who left at that time I was banned from public chat of D-UNI just like in your previous post where .. there was an assumption that I was bad, and inherently deceitful. And you repeat it again here .... You really should work on your transferrence issues, they can be hard to identify. You are not a bad person, just behaving badly, and being quite rude about it too. I do hope it doesn't poison any potential D-UNI people out there because D-UNI is bigger than just one poor attitude. And I'm sure you will calm down and get reasonable again when all this Q.Q is over. I followed the corp orders to the letter, even posting in 101st that as I had left the corp I was removing myself from 101st chat, which I then did. The guys I played with moved on and so did I. Only then did I find out about how badly others had been treated and got only the smallest taste myself. Its a big shame that those of us who thought we left on good terms were instantly banned and unable to play with the UNI people, perhaps even come back and teach as guest lecturers. Oh, and if you haven't been told, Molon Labe knew nothing about all the people coming over, thought you guys were awesome and were going to give D-UNI a district. Until you opened your mouths and placed both feet firmly inside. ----x----- Enough Q.Q distractions -----x---- Hit detection, I can see that the hit box problems could be making things worse than they are, especially the bullet lag / getting hit behind corners problem when you are trying to retreat, something I notice a lot. You poor heavies, I see you dieing out there and commiserate. Considering there was an event timed with the 1.4 changes and lots and lots of ambush matches were played I expect that CCP will have a lot of data to go through. And then the AA will be tweaked and there will be more complaints, etc etc, until they get it about right. I feel the frustration.
again...airing dirty laundry out in public and talking trash on those who helped you...this speaks louder than your words and you should be shameful of this post...
I will not discuss this further with you, its old news, your insubordination and the actions of your fellow members is old news.

You know what leads to progress? A lot of things. What you are doing is not one of them. Dismissing other players' opinions just because they contrast your own, and insulting their personal abilities gets us nowhere. I know plenty of players who were excellent using the controller before 1.4, and did they still agree that hit detection could use some polishing? Yeah, for the most part. You know who constantly complained about hit detection, claiming that they couldn't hit the broad side of a clone reanimation unit? The players who did badly with the controller, period. As for calling KB/M a crutch? How? It's another way of playing, and in the case of some weapons (such as the Sniper Rifle), feels much more responsive and fine-tuned than the DualShock 3.
im not dismissing anyones opinion, im just sick of the QQ... remember when everyone was crying that aiming sucked? now theyre crying cause its to good...its tiresome... |

Insubordination - LOL, that is hilarious, you ain't a drill sergeant Seymore and I was never accused of insubordination or anything else other than (perhaps) behind my back, stop making things up or are you confusing me with someone else? You are the one who made it personal and insulting, I just said you were behaving badly, as others have agreed. Or are you your whole corp now? You accuse, I'll just lay out my facts. I'm not sure what fellow members is supposed to mean?? perhaps some sort of evil consipiracy or cabal?? For an insignificantly small group of people they sure have you annoyed. As to your original demand of video or it didn't happen, I'm working on that for you, I'm hoping that a demonstration might get across my point of view. Aim assist is in my opinion a force multiplier, without it the hit detection is good, with both hit detection improvements and aim assist, they are excellent together. Anyway, I have video to film.
good id like to see that video....you should have begun with the last part of this post instead of going off on your crazy rant about d uni....I scoff at the idea im behaving badly, what I am is sick and tired of self entitled QQers whining about a F2P game that's still basicly a beta and obviously broken...
this whole forum community is one toxic bad attitude... if you ever squaded with me, you know im light hearted and helpful. I like to joke around and have a good time... I do remember you, and I never had an issue with you, what I do have an issue with is you bringing up drama in a public forum that you really don't have any clear understanding of except for what a few jerks relayed to you by word of mouth.
get off your high horse and quit acting like your my moral superior.

Ok, yes I've had some stuff by word of mouth which I reserve judgment on, what I do know about is what I've been involved with. Which is what upset me the most, the accusations without evidence, in the forums when all I did was leave the uni to go play with people I had played with before. I got a bit riled up at accusations that I felt were unfounded. To the UNI's credit I'm now allowed back in comms.d-uni which is great, I'm looking forward to squadding up with people. I'm happy to go to private conversation if you want to tell me what happened from your point of view, I am feeling quite in the dark about this drama. Personally I don't find the forums particularly toxic, but I have a little history in game development so these forums are pretty tame in comparison. When I've changed something in a project I've worked on I've gotten irate phonecalls with swearing from friends that I've known for years, hilarious in hindsight. I've got some video now, it's pretty awful quality and I'm not happy with the games that Stormtrooper played as a demo. I'm trying to get him to play games that are similar, similar maps, similar enemies, that sort of thing. Note: this really is a friend of mine, I quite literally cannot use the PS3 controller at all, I tried and it was very embarrassing. First match he played with Controller was Domination in Ashland where he went 15/5, pretty hard fought, good example of how it is for him to play after the update. Then we tried KB/M, It was only an hour or so until downtime but he couldn't get a Dom queued for the life of him, matches he did play were empty for half the time and then when the enemy came they were tankers and the maps were more open and he was less effective than he could have been. Second match was worse and the blueberries were to be honest terrible. So the KB/M games would have given a false impression IMHO, that the KB/M was worse than it actually is, his k/d was 0/8 in one of them and that's not exactly how it's been now hes gotten a little used to playing with the changes. I'll post them up on U-tube when I can but I think they make the KBD seem worse than it is. If I could get him to run a dom in ahsland again that might be better, ashland doms seem to be quite concentrated. Video upload is going to take a bit regardless....
id be happy to carry our discussion on in private... a lot of mis information was spread with innocents getting caught up in the fallout...and im sorry if I came off as a jackass, but between the QQ on the forums and the BS that went down in the corp, and both of them coming together in this thread, well...lets say it pushed 2 of my buttons at once, lol...
as far as this AA stuff goes and DS3 vs KB/M, I admittedly do not use kb/m so that side is all word of mouth but I believe and respect the mouths the comparison comes from... ive been playing since jan 23rd with a DS3, pretty much everyday, so ive been here for the transition to 1.4, and I agree I die a lot more now, and quicker...but I don't think that's a bad thing
im certainly not the best dust player, but I can hold my own, from my personal experience everything feels tighter, bloodier, and more competitive than it ever has before. I firmly believe these changes are good for the life of dust, and I don't feel they are too overt.
I think hit detection coupled with the AA and hit box tweaking has simply overwhelmed the senses of most players, and our impatience as a community, over rides the time table it takes to truly adapt... I blame CCP for putting to much on us at once, but I still think overall it was a move in the right direction.
ill be waiting for that vid, so I can pick it apart |
