If I wanted to license the carbon engine like the UDK can be licensed how much would that cost?
PS: As a matter of fact CCP should start to license out the engine exactly like Epic does with the UDK (only cheaper). Since CCP isn't really doing anything with the beautiful engine that they created 2 years ago. This would bring a huge amount of revinue in. I'm just saying |

Unreal Engine brings revenue because it's highly polished to be easy to use and generic. Carbon is likely to be none of that. To make a generic engine for licensing and a proprietary engine for internal use are quite different things.
I doubt that CCP would be tempted by your licensing offer, unless it got at least six digits to it. And investing a lot of money to make the engine mass market ready is not guaranteed to bring a profit, far from it. Tons of studios have their own proprietary engine, but only a few are available for licensing. It's not for everyone. |

Unreal actually takes years to truly get the hang of I've been modding with it for years and if you don't believe it takes years look at Dust 514 and how long it is taking professional to fix simple things like core mechanics

highly doubt it is a feature complete, whole game engine designed to be extended for non-eve applications |
