Cant wait to see what kind of competition to dust and eve they can bring to the table! It'll still be instanced to a small player count due to the CryEngine being all about pretty pictures as opposed to functionality. |

True but I know it will be instanced for more numbers of ships in space then we have for troops on the ground. And although its instanced its all on a single persistent server. And I would rather have smooth server game play with the people I am actually going to bother to interact with then then a server lag clusterF that results in other games from trying to do to much at one and it having little positive effect on gameplay. So many MMO's try to to instance everyone and really your never gonna deal with 99% of those scrubs unless your smashing their face in which you can still do. and its more Sections are instanced dynamically and on the fly with regards to load on that area of space. But we have yet to see it in action so its a watch and shoot.

And the cry engine 3 is considered to be one of the best engines available. |

Dust has nothing to do with Star Citizen since its a FPS game being compared to a space flight sim and EVE isnt even in the same genre as its a point and click MMORPG. If you want to make comparisons then compare it Wing Commander or EVE VR. |

Star citizen will allow FPS combat in game, and both eve and dust are persistent sci fi games. At the end of the day ppl want to shoot lasers at each other and blow **** up. |

I seem to be unable to see why people cant tell the difference between EVE, Star Citizen, and all that other Stuff.
EVE- Designed around Large Space battles with a more MMO like fell where its about your skills, the way you ship is fit, and what kind of quality of gear you fit.
Star Citizen- Designed by Chris Roberts, the designer of Wing Commander. From my prediction, it will be a Space FPS Combat Sim. Like, you know, Wing Commander?
Different Strokes for Different Folks.
Those who like Huge Battles, and those more antiquated to MMO's, will play EVE.
Those who like more Intense, More Hands on Battles, will play Star Citizen.
Can people not get over that simple design fact?
I don't mean to hate 2 ton, but that's my POV in the least. |

No worries, I do think however you put way to much stock into semantics of the initial design, Most people play eve because there is not exactly much competition, I really feel that even the concepts of play might be different what draws people to space and sci-fi games is a whole lot simpler then people give it credit. |

It looks like the EVE I would want to play, so I will. I don't want a slow button game, I like flight sims! |

Sorry I worded that wrong. By FPS, I mean the more widely known type of infantry FPS like counter strike or Unreal Tournament. Space dogfighting is a world of difference when compared to that seeing as you're in space and your feet (or should I say "lack" of feet) never touch the ground unless you're landing. |

Hmm.
While true, that could then be argued that everybody who Plays MMO's because there's not much Competition. Which is true.
MMO's draw more on the idea of "Where do I want to Be" as Opposed to "How do I survive this?"
Again, they share the same Style, but their gameplay is drastically different.
However On the FPS standpoint, While Again, Chris Roberts is more well known for flying spaceships in orbit, its a far bit more skill oriented then CCP which is very MMO like.
I suspect RSI could outdo CCP in that aspect, but I also suspect that it will come much like DUST did. Later on, once the Kinks in the game is pulled out, and it has a decent following, then I think SC will add FPS aspects.
tl;dr EVE will remain the star of its Class, SC just operates a different role.
DUST could be threatened by SC, but considering how much of a 'threat" PS2 Plays to DUST, the diehards will still play DUST. |

Yeah but star citizen will have Ground FPS combat, Also boarding in the same instance as the space combat. It is being developed with Infantry combat as a important part of the game. |

I like the idea of both Star Citizen and DUST and I hope they both fulfill their promises.
I'm a FP sort of player so I'm attracted to both of them for the same reason, and I'm pretty sure there are others who feel the same way. |
