Auto aim promotes lazyness
Why get good when the game can do it for you
All FPS games on console seem to have AA because they know alot of players are bad at the game and need this crutch
AA is not needed at all

AA currently streamlines combat. Its doesn't necessarily make it better, but it does make it smoother, which is something I like, less clunkiness more smooth moves.
TBH I drive tanks now, I don't even know if the AA affects vehicles.
Basically Physical in game skill pretty much equates to about 20% of actual game skill. |

AA does not affect vehicles
If you miss you miss, if you hit you hit
Doesnt matter with infantry tho, if you miss you now hit so you can never miss |

All in all I notice very little distance but I like AA. Sure I could aim sufficiently prior to 1.4 but I stand by my point the infantry Combat is more streamlined than it every was before.
I personally don't care either way since my tanks don't get AA. |

I used to use the MD because I've always found it to be a fun weapon. Now I use it because I know I earned the kill against someone trying to hip fire from sniper distance with curving bullets. |

You do realize that analogue sticks are an inferior control method, right?
The DualShock controllers have a pretty long history of excellent thumbstick design, but using a thumbstick is still a less accurate means of aiming that some others.
Just because the aim assist is a bit too good in its current iteration doesn't mean it should just be axed, and CCP isn't going to do that. They'll keep iterating on it till it works. |

I grew up on ps shooters, I think the mouse is inferior.

I actually first started with console shooters as well, but I'm no better at them with the controller than I am with a mouse.
The reality you need to accept is not everyone who plays games online is a "Pro". I may be able to swing this game with no aim assist, but not everyone who plays it will be able to do so, and they aren't all just bad people who want to wreck the game with "aimbot".
I mean, most of the same people who have been going on and on for months about how this game drives away new players come right along and **** all over a feature designed to not only help the players we have right now, but to allow for others who play console shooters who might not be "God-Tier" at controller aiming.
Is the system a bit to aggressive now? Yes. Will it be fixed? Yes. Will having it in the game in its fixed state be better for all of us? YES. |

aim assist is essential. aim assist is almost completely abstracted. what we have now is anything but a hidden mechanism and needs to be lessened, not scrapped. |

If a person isnt accurate they wont hit
Give them a mouse they wont hit
Give them a DS3 they wont hit
Its down to the person and not the input method
If they are bad they will be bad but also its what they are used to
Im used to DS3 for example, i do play KB+M games but i wish i had 9 fingers so i could move better but i will perform better on a DS3 so does that mean if i use mouse i should have AA? lolno

1. Agreed 2. questionable 3. see 2 ^^ Oh come on.
It may take them some time, but CCP has a pretty long track record of eventually fixing just about everything.
At this point the Dust team is doing faster turnarounds on content than even the EVE team.
If that breaks things sometimes, I'd still say it's worth it for the pace at which we're getting changes and new content. |

Bad player defending his crutch because he thinks he can now aim
My AA is turned off anyways but also AA doesnt work in a tank so i already can aim
Why cant you aim? |

So here something for you to consider, I tried aim assist thought it was fine, tried with the laser, the ar, the smg, the scr, I never experienced the snap, the input less tracking, or any curving majic bullets. My performace was actually about the same with auto weapons as it was before!! So I turned it off, and guess what, I did better, not just once, not twice, not even 3 times, no I consistemtly out performed my aim assist for the rest of the night!!
Please explain this!! |
