One of the biggest things I think that continuously exacerbates the performance issues people have in this game is the sheer enormous amounts of equipment that are on the field at any given time. Particularly in PC, sometimes the maps/sockets are so littered with nanohives/equipment that your minimap looks like a Christmas tree.
What I'm suggesting is that the game put a limit on an individual player's ability to spam equipment around the battlefield, forcing players to play a bit more tactically with their equipment. What I mean by this is that no matter how many types of nanohives or uplinks a player may have available in his fits, only, for example, three total nanohives or three total uplinks could be active at any given time. Any new nanohive or uplink beyond the third would destroy the first accordingly, regardless of what type it was. I'm sure this is the point where my Logibros start throwing rocks at me telling me to GTFO, but this equipment spam is seriously something that is destabilizing this game.
The equipment we use doesn't even feel of any importance once a supply depot is secured and allowed to be exploited. Drop all your equipment -> switch into next fit -> drop more equipment -> rinse and repeat. Once a successful turtle is established around a supply depot, it's a constant uphill battle trying to find and destroy the tens or hundreds of uplinks scattered everywhere. Make equipment seem more important and tactically useful, not something that can be littered around every nook and crannie of a map. And the bonus side effect of this would also bring an increase in performance! |

OMG
brb, making more fittings with every uplink available on the market
Honestly, the problem is that each variant of uplink has its own limit. If there was a limit to 3 uplinks per player, no matter what the variant, this would be solved. |

Each player can drop a max of 3 uplinks, regardless of type. Each player can only drop a max of 3 nanohives, regardless of type. |

Sounds like someone has a cross burning on LOGIBro's Lawn. Diminishing active equipment deployed is a mistake. I can't wait for friendly fire to be active so I can find you on either side of the battle and shoot you then heal you with a triage hive then fill my gun back up with ammo. When you get mad enough with my antics you will probably try to kill me and if such a thing occurs then I would want several of my options at long distances from you, but with you possibly close to death I may want to spawn just around the corner from you. This would NERF the logi role. Please just go play ostrich in your neighbor's sandbox and tell me, will anyone hear you scream? |

I'm a logistics / engineer player and one of the new maps in particular has a sweet spot for remote explosives. I've taken out entire hallways full of baddies and its thrilled to see KILL 50 pulse on my screen 4-6 times a shot.
So lets say I deploy a droplink...hidden in a spot where it will surely be found eventually but at least not for a few minutes. That's one. I go and litter the staircases and corridors with remote explosives (limit 4 on F/45) that's 5 drops of active equipment. Honestly...that's bare minimum for me every single match...so if you limit that anymore, you're screwing me over.
Such is also the case with Proximity explosives. I know the cowardly LAV riders are going to be gunning for congested areas and I want to be able to protect my teammates so I drop me 3 proximity mines and VROOOOOOOOOOM......here comes the LAV driver, laughing like he's in TWISTED METAL and he's like oh I'm gonna kill 'em, oh I'm gonna get 'em, gimme dem kills nom nom nom nom nom and then he turns in....BOOM!
I'm like suuuuuuuuuuuuuck it! And that helps you too if you're on my team, holmes ;)
I carry F/45 remote explosives on me in two slots. So I deploy with 6 remote explosives and trust me when I tell you 75% of my war points / kills come from remote explosives...I'm clever with them (plus people are stupid and chase you lol)
But with the additions of the new maps and the sheer awesomeness of their layouts....my entire game is based around how much active equipment we can drop at one time...so you reduce that, you reduce some of the fun and why play a game if its not fun?
I think you're tired of being blown up by remote explosives or being killed by redeployed clones and looking for a reason to pitch yourself a wah wah party ;) just my opinion though...more thought it was funny to say lol |

Garbage suggestion, OP. Thanks to 1.4 you assault types had your wet dream wishes granted with auto aim. But now you're suggesting a limit on equipment too? Typical. Stop trying to make this a ****** game, guys. Diversity makes this game special and I didn't dump millions of SP into equipment to be subject to some arbitrary limit on its use. |

I've been an adamant opponent against aim assist since Hour 0 of 1.4, and I don't even play with aim assist, so your little straw man argument is null. I realized Logis would hate this suggestion because it brings equipment into balance, but it's a necessary thing to cull the insane equipment spam we see especially in PC. |

Make it so that the skills let you place +1 per level.

The limit is there, but exploiters have found a way to glitch more equipment out by abusing the suit swap. It is a bug that they are able to do that, and they are exploiting the hell out of it. |

A bug?! Says you, bud! The equipment descriptions don't support your theory at all.

Just wait for 1.5. We will most likely be getting wp for equipment destruction then. |
