It seems that since a large portion of the community doesn't have much experience with modern console shooters, they need to understand that Aim Assist is apart of console shooters. Previously, Dust has had too little and its made the controls awful to use. While I do agree that maybe the aim assist is a bit overboard, it needs to stay in the game, its the only way to have a fast paced shooter |

It's supposed to be slower paced with high TTK. |

That's the idea, yeah. If a heavy and a scout both die in a few seconds under a relatively low-skilled AR fire, that's not by design. The game has both suit tiers (light, medium, heavy) and skill areas (shields, armor) that set about letting you survive longer and take more punishment. If you die in seconds regardless, then that element of the game design isn't working as intended.
People are supposed to take a bit more effort and ammo to kill, which is also part of why things like repair tools, supply depots, nanohives, and max ammo skills would have use. |

There's quite a large portion of the playerbase who, given the choice, would take improvements to aim assist over nothing. Most threads on the topic are offering a binary choice between assist and no assist, without explaining the options. People are looking at the current state of the aim assist, and saying no simply because they don't want it to carry on unchanged.
Also, all console shooters have aim assist, but not all of them have the kind of aim assist that's described with that term in DUST. Many only have the same kind of "aim friction" we've had since they turn the aim assist off. |

Keep AA, but weaken it, it shouldn't track as well as it does, but it should help snap to the target when you aim down the sight to emulate the precision of a mouse. |
