of course i can actually aim with out aim assist any ways..
and ive still been seeing players spray and pray even with the aim assist.. I used my alt who is skilled into scrambler rifles as a test of aim assist. Before 1.4 I was steady at 15 - 20 kills in an ambush with 0 - 4 deaths. With aim assist on Iv since gone 30 - 40 kills in ambush with 0 - 2 deaths. Of course, it's not at all possible that you're simply getting better results because of the improved hit detection. Obviously.
NOTE: I agree with people saying the aim assist is probably a bit heavy-handed, but I haven't seen evidence of it being too offensive since day one of the new build. Also, I turned it off and I do fine - slightly better than with it on, in fact. |

Just please. Yeah, console gamers don't have the patience to pay attention to in-depth stats like these in our games. Something so complex would only happen in a PC game. |

That statement is untrue, as someone who plays mainly PC fps's I use nothing BUT a gamepad, iv played in PC tourneys with gamepads and came in high standings. It seems only console players need aim assist because they've been babied their whole gaming life by aim assist.
In short, console players, get good, CCP remove aim assist and console babies, stop propagating kb/m is better than a gamepad, nether are better, both can be used equally well by those skilled in their prefered imput device.
Also CCP, since turn rates out the window, give both kb/m AND gamepads raw imput. It's a console game, therefore they shouldn't be catering to KBM users. KBM users complain about the DS3 aim assist, when it's in MOST other console shooters. It's on the PS3 not the PC. KBM users should be grateful that they can even use their KB on this game. Selfish, Selfish Selfish I mostly play PS3 games because my laptop is barely running WinXP right now and doesn't really do gaming.
I don't like the aim assist in DUST either.
What's your excuse for the many people like me who are console gamers who don't like what CCP have done with their aim assist?
Most console shooters have aim assist, but often it's only the kind CCP refer to as "aim friction", which has been present for ages, never got turned off, and isn't connected with the aim assist on/off toggle in the options menu. |

And the links totally reshape the meaning behind my words. Take a look. |

Skipper Jones wrote:Then turn aim assist off... If the majority of people give some valid reasons why the aim assist should be tweaked then that's on CCP to finish the job off.
I, however, haven't gotten my hands on 1.4 yet. So I can't REALLY tell you my thoughts on aim assist until then. Aim assist being too good doesn't mean I can't turn it off.
It means that the complaints about it being a "crutch" are legitimate (if exaggerated) and toning it down would help make it less so.
I already have it off, and only turn it on occasionally in order to test things. I'm still not sure of all the intricacies of the system, how to exploit it (if possible) and how to make it either stop responding or do crazy things while it's supposed to be active. I've heard people reporting results I haven't been able to either reproduce or find a clear explanation for yet, and I want to try and do so before I make a final decision on the state of AA. My current "too strong, needs reduction" conclusion isn't necessarily what I'll be going with long-term. |

Take a look. it goes back the problem at hand, this is NOT a PC game, it is a CONSOLE game. otherwise it would be available on the PC market, it is not, its only available on the playstaion market, which is a console Just like the example of a PC game with in-depth stats that I used was Armored Core, which is a CONSOLE game for the CONSOLE market with more complex walls of text and numbers than the majority of PC games out there, and my example of how console games are dumbed down compared with the complexity of PC games was Doom, which you should probably have heard of by now. |

Void Echo wrote:oh yes iv heard all your PC vs Console arguments, in these forums, youtube and many other sites.
the fact remains, consoles are different from PCs and the games on each platform should not cater to those who are not playing the game in the intended platform, if you want to use your M/KB, go play a PC game, if you want to use a controller, go play a console game, simple as that, you cannot make a console game and expect it to act similarly to a PC game. that's like trying to eat ice-cream with a pair of tongs over an oven.
this game is not created for PC gamers, it was created for console gamers to get introduced to the eve universe through their side.
your just lucky that CCP let you use your accessories to play this game. And the point I was making is that Meeko's post claimed console players can't deal with complex games and need everything dumbed down for them. That's blatantly not true for a large enough portion of console gamers to support a series of more than 15 games with some of the most intricate stat-driven customisation in gaming. |

SOCOM 1, 2 and 3 beg to differ. Before someone argues the point that those were TPS's, they could also be played in first person. Either way, they didn't have and didn't need aim assist... because console gamers didn't suck back then. Apparently they do now. You could also add Killzone and Killzone 2 onto the list. |
