Can we have doors that we can open and close in the new maps? Kinda like an installation hack without the points, so we can have "shortcuts" to objectives or into a compound? On the Gallente research facility map there are a few doors that are closed that i feel should be able to be opened i.e. a door to the bunker that is accessible from only 1 side. |

+1 Yes please Allmighty "interact button" will fulfill the role of the doorknob very well
EDIT: The "door hacking" is good idea. It could give more time to flee from reds if they first need to hack it before opening. If door are hacked your way they open and close immediately with no time delay. Of course some door could be just plain open/close door without a lock. Just there to prevent draft... |

i feel it would add a tactical element to the gameplay, your squad is under heavy fire, your backs to a wall, have someone hack the door, escape through the door, heal and rearm, prepare for the frontal assault but watch for people flanking your new found haven ;) |

That was the first thing I tried doing when coming up to one of the doors I saw a blue keypad and I tried going over to hack it and hopefully find a way out as it is confusing first time around. |

I was actually just having this conversation with G8bri3l Vectoscope.
We were discussing the merit of the present closed doors being hackable. Locked to the opposing side they have to be hacked to open. Once hacked anyone on your team could then open the door with the interact function and close it again. The opposing team would have to then re-hack the door in question to allow its operation by their side.
Because of the danger of opening a door to find an ambush in wait the doors should be destructible also. Enough hp to take a few hits from a forge gun or a couple packed grenades, but breachable with a little firepower and patience. This would ensure that the decision to use the time and ammo would be weighed against hacking, or taking the long way round. |

+1 for interactive maps!
While we're at it, how about adding a classic staple for all FPS games... exploding barrels! (Or the sci-fi equivelant of course)

Close the blastdoors on level C3!
Would be funsauce for that underground segments and for the big Pyramid like socket.
Just need for it to be bug-free so people don't just morph through your Blastdoors.

How about openable and closeable doors by clicking circle also doors can be hacked by holding circle like you usually do and this makes it harder for other players to get through them.
State Patriots a loyal Caldari based corporation is accepting all Caldari and Amarr to help fight on the front.

The map designers could essentially create castle walls.
Domination games with two or three layers that have to be breached before the final hack.
Or an extra step for High powered players against Low powered players. The low powered players can pass through the first layer, but the high powered players have to hack their way through. Maybe defenders have a go anywhere pass, while the attackers have to hack the layers.
Shots still go through, but at reduced damage.
Uplinks maybe that only work from one layer to the next. |

This could also lead to maps in more internal locations, fighting inside bases and titans. IGÇÖm for it.
