I can understand the minmartar scout needing some updates, but the Gallente scout is in my opinion perfect. I am afraid it will end up being overpowered if it is getting more power, I prefer to play a class that is slightly underpowered and challenging hence why I choose the scout class.
I have only been playing pub and FW matches, not PC. Got through winter carnage event running proto scout exclusively, having two proto weapons equipped and ended up with a kdr around 6-7 after the week. This is an amazing feat considering my average fps skills and my kdr is only 1.1 since I started playing Dust back in January. I have a proto gal logi on the same char and I am not able to get anywhere near the same amount of kills as with the scout.
Only challenge will be when dampening modules become more commonly used and only and single highslot module need to be used for a precision enhancer module.
The tracking and turn speeds are affected by your overall speed. My 900ehp logi often get killed by scouts or even starter dropsuits up close running around me as I am unable to track them with my aim assisted ds3 duvolle damaged modded logi. My scout on the other hand does exactly the same vs other suits that have more health than me and yet I win many of the close encounters with no damage mods added.
Before you say I go easy mode having a proto logi with duvolle, I started with the plasma canon and have a rather large portion of skill points in this weapon. Had to finally accept the fact that in current build an AR was needed if I was ever going to field proto support equipment, survive and avoid loosing isk every match.
Whatever changes are planned for the scout, please do not remove the current Gallente racial bonus and please do not make them too strong. I rely on my passive scanning, and scouts are currently the only players that I am not picking up reliable on my scanning, I do not wish to see more red scouts sneaking around |

Xender17 wrote:Good English. I think scouts should have the highest amount of CPU/PG in the game. They have a relatively low amount of modules so why not let them equip the best of the best? Scouts are meant to infiltrate. But they are also good at hitting hard and quick. They aren't good at surviving long period battles. So this shows more how they need to get out quick. Giving them the best of the best to do what they should.
I think the low CPU/PG on the scout suits reflects the huge amount on build in modules in the suit. We have lots of dampeners, range amplifiers, shield enhancers, speed, stamina etc build compared to a stock standard medium frame. Extra CPU would be nice, I have lots of spare PG. But why have PG and CPU modules in the game if everyone wish enough stock CPU/PG on every suit to avoid having to install a PG or CPU module? |

Whops, I replied on an old thread, sorry. The scout has already received a buff with the added scan range since the initial post. I was speaking from experience from the current scout stats. |

That is true, the duvolle focused scanner is rarely used in regular pub matches however it is not reasonable that a squad with this single item could complete negate one of the highest advantages the scout have.
They will need to add a racial scout type that excels in low profile scannings or there would be no counter the dampened scout. I have no concerns having the scout updated to be able to avoid the focused duvolle scanner when there is another way of scanning the scout.
The squad would then have to sacrifice a squad position for a low scanning scout to counter the dampened scout on the other team. Instead of as now they only need to sacrifice a equipment slot to counter the sneaky scout, rendering the scout almost useless against the proto squad for a very little cost. |
