Press triangle on items in market and scroll to prerequisites to see what skills u need. Stick to standard gear if u plan to train anything. The militia tab in the market is your best bet for now though.

In market there will be a green check if u can use an item and a red x if u cannot based on your skills.

... read the many guides found in these forums before you spend any SP... save for now.

As said above, almost all equipment aside militia requires some kind of skill level in some skill before you can use it.

Think what you want to specialize into and spend your SP wisely. Do not splurge it all in one go but little by little.

Just noticed that tiers are displayed, but skill requirements have gone missing from the market. Was this needed?

... OTOH, I already know all the pre-reqs so YMMV
/shrug, it's not doing much for new player experience. |

Get some Militia Dropships and practice flying at the back of some Ambush maps. This'll let you practise before you start spending your SP.

if you want to be a pilot, take a read of this thread.

Try this thread that has loads of videos that start at step 1 and even show the ps3 controller as a graphic to show you exactly what to do.

You can talk to many pilots there, including judge here. It's always great to have fitting discussions there. Haven't had one in a while though but still.

Agreed. Stick to Militia gear for a bit until you learn the game. All that stuff is skill free and cheap. Build a little nest egg of ISK and see what you like.

Logistics provide support. They have the only suits capable of carrying more than one equipment item.

You could decide to run a 'medic' and carry a nanite injector to revive, nano hives to resupply ammo and a repair tool to quickly repair the armor of a team mate.

I run what I call an 'infiltrator' logistics and I carry drop uplinks and an active scanner. My goal is to get behind the enemy, set my uplinks so my squad can spawn there and use the scanner to know where the enemy is. Then I get busy hacking all their objectives, CRUs and supply depots.

Some logistics focus on demolitions and will lay out remote explosives and proximity mines.

right now my suggestion would be , get a militia version of every suit, light heavy and medium..basics obviously. try them each with different weapon combinations , see which feels best for your play style...I wasted a lot of time ISK and SP in lighter weapons and suits before I realised my calling is in heavy suits.
best bet would be to do what you already are , if you ever have a question , ask in forums or in chat channels, someone is always happy to help ive found. better to ask than to waste.
