Welp, Arkena was right.
Currently my only issue thus far with 1.4 has been the overabundance of dual-tank caldari and minmatar suits which makes it hard still to rock an armor tank. I'd love to say that the plates buff has solved all of my problems, but no, the assault rifle kills pretty fast, however even with better hit detection currently the HMG lags completely behind, except at point blank. I don't think the problem is the weapon, but the current meta, which everyone has jumped on.
The armor buff also buffed shield tanks as predicted, so right now with the increased hit detection there is no measurable advantage to assaults not stacking armor in the lows.
Right now I'm getting no utility from aim assist, I tested it rather thoroughly, and it was about as useful as a football bat to me. I'm cool with this. Yes I tested aim assist with an assault rifle and scrambler. I had absolutely zero time where the crosshair wanted to follow an enemy. I was using the DS3 for the testing, not the mouse, which I had shut off for it.
I have noticed a MASSIVE difference in hit detection, however which is causing people to melt fast under fire. Nicely done.
But as it stands the cal logi and assault as well as the minmatar sets all are even more durable than the griping from before because of the armor buff. My boundless took longer to kill more than one of them standing still at ear-licking range with the better hit detection than it did before in a few wildly notable cases.
As it stands there is no disadvantage to shields, and most armor suits cannot fit enough high slots to fit a respectable dual tank. so we have achieved suit homogenization. Dual Tank will be the new FOTM, even more so than before.
I'm not going to say that the HMG (which I was using) is particularly problematic until I work out the kinks of the new gameplay. I might just need to get used to everything again. |

Any suit can toss on an extra plate and it provides more of a benefit to shield tankers than regulators. If CCP were to add the downside they had in mind (extenders cause a delay in shield recharge) the use of a regulator would be needed, meaning there are less plates on a suit.
Basic Plates also take up to little PG complex plates take too much. If the numbers were changed to 3 pg for basic and 8 pg for complex we'd see more people picking and choosing which type of tank they fit for.
Making CPU boosters take PG as well would also take PG that would be going to dual tanking as well. |

Wait is this thread on tanks such as the Gunnlogi, or "tanks" as in people with high armor and shields on their dropsuits. The terminology is a little confusing, and the thread title sounded like an idea for dual tank that could be piloted for two different players, similar to a Jaegar in Pacific Rim. |

What does Dual-tank refer to? Pardon me, I'm not familiar with the term. |

extenders in the high slots, plates in the low slots. it basically means you have to run STD equipment but can absolutely spike HP to mad levels. |
