If any vehicle users recall that sometimes when using small missile launchers the projectile would go off at a 45 degree angle from the aim point for no apparent reason. This seams to have somehow transferred to shotguns though not in the same way.
no one has yet to figure out under what conditions small missile launchers suffer from this glitch but I believe after spending several matches doing nothing but shooting walls next to a supply depos that I found the conditions under witch shotguns turn from precision aiming weapons to protractors that shoot.
the first condition is strafing. essentially if you are going left of right your shotgun will fire but the actual projectile spread will go off at a 45 degree angle in the opposite that you are moving save for a single pellet that goes 45 degrees in the other direction.
the second condition is moving while turning. if you are turning while moving the shots go from a 45 degree angle to a 60 degree angle in the opposite direction that you are turning.
the third condition is firing right after moving. your first right after strafing or turning will duplicate the effect of the shot going off at a 45 degree angle as if you were still moving. the second shot will be on target however.
shotguns will remain accurate if you are standing perfectly still and have not moved but as this is not a valid battlefield strategy I fear this glitch will place the shotgun in a vary dark "useless" place until it Is fixed.
on a side note the shots that go off at a 45 degree angle are registering as hitting a target if they do hit so the new hit detection system is working for shotguns its just shotguns do not shoot straight. |

Something was indeed amiss prior to today's update. It has since been fixed. |

Turrets on vehicles suffer from latency issues.
You fire a shot. That info takes x ms to reach the server. During those x ms the vehicle has moved. The shot originates from where the server thinks the vehicle is when it receives your trigger pull. In another x ms the server has told you that the shot has been fired and it gets rendered.
It's not so bad with the primary turrets on vehicles. I don't know if that's different mechanics or just the user adapting and being in control of movement. |
