CCP took away the hill advantages, more of the hack terminals are underground, they cut the visual distance and then the render distance, and now the fields are twice the size.
Time to respec I think, because being a sniper is pointless.

get a drophip fly on a building. take your shots and move... there are plenty of good sniping locations. but, unlike before there is no "i can stay here all game and no one can kill my because im so far away" spots |

H.D Same here with scouts i badly need a respec
scouts were ALWAYS nerfed, and each update nerfs them worse...
now with aim assist and reduced movement speed scouts are insta-killed by ARs. shotguns don't work and snipers are the only thing you can use... but you have to keep moving... which leads you to the catch-22 ...
catch-22 = scout suit moving in the open or engaging enemy IS a dead scout BUT the only viable weapon for a scout right now is the sniper which due to map design forces you to have to move
PROs:
- plenty of CQB areas of new maps
- aim assist helps snipers and shotguns too
- improved hit detection makes
CONs:
- latency (lagg) and frame rate (the map loading textures slow) cause misses with snipes and shotguns. so even though hit detection is improved (a la HMG, and AR) one shot weapons (forgun, snipers, shotguns) suffer
- higher average ehp of suits makes TTK slightly higher which on average is good, but not for scouts
- rail technology now does more damage to shields than armor whereas before it did equal amounts of damage
- passive scanning was shot to hell so, now the scout that would have avoided the heavy is now running into them accidently.
the problems aren't too big to fix. they are working on hotfixes now. by next week things will be normal again. |

I can agree with this for null canons. but, snipers should be capable of defending their squads. snipers and LMGs both were designed with the purpose of holding off or helping to defend a small unit from attack from a bigger unit by reducing their numbers directly and suppression (snipers and HMG suppress).
heavies and snipers have the same role... but both are gimped.
- heavies are too slow (they need to be slow but not this slow), their bigger hit box and pathetic ehp just make them easy targets
- HMG sucks balls
- scouts are gimped hard, with transparent ehp... scouts are the scantely clad women seen in war movies that have just a loin cloth and breast plate.... except scouts get shot and it aint pretty
- rail tech is balanced now. so it does more damage to shields than armor. problem is a balanced weapon + a gimped suit = unbalanced...
scouts and heavies are squad defense and assault and logis are offensive (logis need to put down uplinks, ammo and rep/revive the assualts so they need to be onthe front line)
right now if my squad is under attack at an objective my snipers can't cover me. everyone hates snipers on the enemy team... but when your about to get wiped out, and dudes start dropping from a friendly sniper you thank the lord ...lol |

I would like to change the sniper rifle, to give to snipers a more active role. Hold your breath mechanic to fight the sight tremble, higher level in skill, more time for you to hold your breath and of course better scopes.
when you spec into snipers and get adv and proto the sight sway goes down |

H.D Just another scrub whine for a respec. Sniper rifle is only a million or two in SP tops. Sniper is a one of those roles anybody can train into as a secondary which I do recommend. If you want to be primarily a sniper then once you have the weapon at a nice level you can cross train into other things so that you can switch tactics depending on the battle. What an ass you are, I'm no scrub you idiot, at 22mill SP, I'm just thinking of changing the primary role of the character.
THE F**K! with 22 million SP you have enough to be a sniper and a hvy full proto both with core upgrades...lolol. hell I could do it with my 11 millions SP if I hadn't put it in derpships... aw well |
