Some game play footage from one of the new maps, this was during a planetary battle where Sver gave a hand to our new members of the Public Disorder alliance Capital Acquisitions LLC. So this is just highway map ver 2.0? New ascetic designs and fortifications. I guess technically can call it a new map. LOL |

Not really.
The way maps work in this game is like this:
Terrain is of one type. Then there are sockets placed on the map, they can be of various types.
When you add terrain and the sockets together then you have what we all call a map.
So the terrain in the video is spine crescent. The socket, which for PC means the SI, is the research lab.
With 1.4, it looks like the research lab has been made to bring its medium sockets with it for coherent map design. So instead of having the hangars at E and D like before, we now get these medium sockets in their place.

Basically as "The Attorney General" was getting at, this new terrain and Large socket helps to show why DUST will very quickly build up an amazing map selection.
Each terrain you add basically creates a new overall map for -each- large socket you have. Likewise each Large socket you add will create a new map for each terrain type.
Given a few more terrain and sockets, DUST's effective map count will skyrocket past anything else currently planned or out there. |

All I can say is I wish you got to fight within the Research Facility itself a little bit more. But yes, the new map and sockets are pretty cool.

Unfortunately, while this video highlights an excellent way to strategically play the game, and the map changes from 1.4 there are some content issues that conflict with our forum rules.
Language wise, swearing is not something that we particularly harsh on, however - racist/sexist/homophobic language is not tolerated!
