I deleted DUST from my ps3 this morning so that I could download a fresh updated copy from the PSN store.
My download speed is quite slow and my connection usually gets disrupted, causing the update to fail. By downloading a fresh copy from PSN Store, the download will pause if your connection is disrupted. This is how I downloaded Uprising 1.3 and it worked without a hitch, so I figured I would just do this from now on.
Anywho, I started downloading this morning at about 12 GMT and just finished installing. I start up DUST, and what do you know, it starts updating...
*sighs* looks like it will be another 15 hours before I can play. That is IF I can download the 2.3 GB update without a connection disruption. If not, then I guess I will be saying goodbye to DUST, at least until faster internet download speeds are available in my area.
Update time is currently teetering on 1014 - 1015 min. |

do what? Leave DUST? It isn't like I would have much of a choice if I can't download the update. Unless they release an updated copy to PSN for download. |

Have you considered resetting your modem? That often solves the problem. I downloaded the same update in just 35 minutes. |

Why do you delete it when a new patch comes out?
Also that's a problem with the PSN. |

Not going to work. I called my ISP today to find out what the problem is. They informed me that because of the area I live in they can only provide me with 512 kb/s download speed. |

I had to for the last patch. Trying to download it from PSN as an update kept getting me disconnected. I had to delete my copy and download a fresh copy which was already updated to 1.3. This way if I got disconnected, the download simply paused, then resumed automatically.
I guess they didn't update the PSN Store's version this time. |

Well, in this particular case, it is my internet connection. I only get about 0.5 mb/s download speeds with my broadband DSL; because of the area I live in, My ISP cannot provide me with more than that. It is also the only ISP I know of that provides internet in my area. |

Probably not. Internet access is not very good in many countries. And I'm talking about first world countries. I live in a big city in Germany. I live in the middle of the ******* city and the best I can get is 500kb/s download speed. And there are even apartments where you don't have internet access at all.
tl;dr: Internet access sucks in many places. Not only out in the woods. |

I live about 1.5 miles outside of the County seat of Chatham County, North Carolina. It is about 1 hour from Raleigh. |
