Didn't do a thing, even though all missiles hit every time and we had red hit markers. Unless you're practically in the enemy redline, Missiles (yes, even from a Large Turret) explode before reaching the enemy MCC. Blaster rounds don't reach either. Railguns on the other hand...
Also, near the end days of Precursor, my girlfriend got a Sniper Rifle MCC kill. |

Clearly I'm not wrong or we wouldn't have discovered this... Some people. My point was that, on most maps, you have to move in pretty close to the enemy MCC before missiles will hit. I was actually backing you up against someone claiming that you were wrong, and pointing out that Missiles CAN reach, but often won't, and he was probably shooting from too far away when he tried it.
I've so far only been... uhhh... let's say "fortunate"... enough to play one Domination match on Ashland. It was while I was testing Shotguns to try and figure out what was wrong with them. So no, I haven't actually tried aiming for the enemy MCC on that map specifically, but in MOST maps, you need to get pretty close to the redline if you want a chance to hit the target. |

Asmodeus Reinhart wrote:The amount of damage you do is painfully low. They basically nerfed your ability to 'just shoot the MCC' most likely by raising the MCC health, and the null cannon damage to a specified amount higher than any team would be capable of dishing out assuming the game was working properly. Actually, they just put ridiculous damage modifiers on every ground-based weapon when shooting the MCC, and didn't apply those modifiers to the MCC's weapons or NULL Cannons.
When they first made the change, they still had a permanently-visible "efficiency" rating that popped up on almost every weapon when using fine aim, and players could see the efficiency rating on targeting the MCC. For most weapons, it's 0%, with a few at 1 - 10% (Railguns I believe were at the 10% end of the scale) |
