First impressions were that scanning was working correctly. Finaly. After having been completely broken since Uprising first dropped, it seemed like everything was running smoothly. Enemies in scan range, who I should reasonably expect to see coming, showed up on my radar pretty much every time.
After those first few pleasant matches... NOPE.
Consistently run down by LAVs that literally never lit up EVEN WHEN I WAS LOOKING AT THEM. (usually not killed by them, just that they're getting within 1m without lighting up)
Regularly "snuck up" on by Heavies with my SCANNING-BUFFED SCOUT SUIT and having them reach less than 2m from me and I don't see them even then until I turn around.
Even when the enemy in question is DEAD-CENTRE IN MY CROSSHAIRS they sometimes aren't lighting up, and frequently aren't showing on the sensor display even when they ARE marked in red.
EDIT: As I THOUGHT would be obvious from the example of a Heavy sneaking up on me, this is about passive scanning, not the Active scanners in the Equipment slot. |

Only time so far I know the scanner has definitely gone weird was scanning a tank from 10m away and it not showing up on the map but getting the "no margin of error." Message. And then when it did eventually allow me to scan it my squad leader still couldn't see it on the orbital screen and just had to drop it infront me based off my directions. |

Ran over by LAVs?
That **** still happens? One thing CCP got right was changing that in my opinion.
Scout's passive scanner needs a buff, thats all. We have 10m right now. (Same as all other frames) |

And passive scanning doesn't just need a "buff" - it needs to ACTUALLY WORK ALL THE TIME.
Even without a buff, I SHOULD SEE A HEAVY SUIT 1M AWAY FROM ME IN A SCOUT THAT'S BUILT AND SKILLED FOR PASSIVE SCANNING. |

Hey, can you try using a precision module on one of your suits and post back your results? I'm going to test this too with a scout suit.
10 meters in this game really isn't that much, and by the time a heavy was withing 10 meters of you, it might be too late.
Try finding a heavy, and get close to him, then turn around and see if he still appears on your radar. If he does it means scanning is working. If not, there could be a problem. |

I'm already using a precision module.
And I have the relevant skills to get more than 15m scan range.
And as mentioned, HEAVIES LITERALLY 2M AWAY MULTIPLE TIMES WITHOUT LIGHTING UP. I came around a corner face-to-face with a Heavy that hadn't been on my HUD or on my scanners until I could see him. I was busy shooting someone and turned around to see an enemy practically on top of me backing away from another of my teammates and even while I had them on-screen, I wasn't getting HUD or sensor indicators of the enemy in question. I had to shoot him and see the red hit markers to be sure it wasn't a friendly. |

And another... uhhh... "interesting" match just now.
ENEMY SCOUT lights up at almost the 15m limit of my scan range. I pop out and take a look, and yep, it's a Scout suit. He's even facing the other way with a Sniper Rifle. So I rush at him.
AND GET INTERCEPTED BY THE HEAVY THAT WAS STANDING PRACTICALLY RIGHT ON TOP OF ME AND DIDN'T LIGHT UP WHEN THE SCOUT DID. |
