The aim assist is definitely not OP. Personally I chose not to use aim assist when I have the option. I tested it out this morning just to see how it would be. It barely follows the clone you're aiming at for more than a meter or two in any direction, nor does it aim directly at their head, like many have been saying it does. Also the aim assist doesn't lock on to a target unless you're within a certain amount of distance.
All in all I enjoy the addition of aim assist into the game to help new players not rage quit after their first 'proto-stomping'. As for the players saying it is OP and should be removed, you are wrong. Go play other FPS games, such as Call of Duty or Battlefield, look at their ridiculous aim assist, which does in fact aim directly at someone's head, and does follow the player. If you can't survive with this _slight_ aim assist, in your proto suit stacked with complex mods, you're doing something wrong. |

I played them all, that's why I've stuck with dust buy boosters and an elite pack, if your saying there's no diffrence then why are we here? I liked dust even after a major suit nerf, and role bonus change, I like it because it was diffrent.
I'm saying that they are different. All I was comparing was the aim assist. Saying that the aim assist in this game is much less than the aim assist in those games, thus making the aim assist in this game definitely not OP. I don't use aim assist in any game when given the option to turn it off, so personally it doesn't bother me at all whether its there or not. I just dislike all of the proto stompers now complaining that they cant sit in the middle of an open area with their stacked mods and survive because new players can actually aim at them. This game takes a lot of getting used to over any other FPS I've played, if CCP wants to implement things to help new players stay, then I am all for it. I prefer DUST over CoD or BF because DUST is a more in-depth game, not just a run and gun. |
