Why even have kb/m in the game if it's useless.. is it really? is it LITERALLY an AIMBOT? what is it with these forum goers and responding so histrionically to any change that doesn't affect them in a positive light? the aim assist is nothing like an aimbot and anyone who has actually used it would know that. it's on par with other console shooters. is it noticeable? yes, because we've been without it for so long. look, I did OK before aim assist but anyone who played with a gamepad will tell you that aiming prior to 1.4 was clunky and poor. this assist is a positive, and KB + M players needs to actually try it themselves for a few matches before continuously wailing on the forums. Aiming and hit detection are better in 1.4 with OR without the aim assist.
And while the aim assist isn't quite on the level of a well-coded aimbot, it isn't too far short. If you can adapt to using it (more like letting it do most of the work), it makes things FAR easier than it should. You can line up near a target and just blaze away with reasonable expectation that it will auto-correct your aim not just to hit, but to specifically give you headshots. |

For the record, yes, it is possible to escape the auto-aim easier than you can escape a skilled player with it turned off. The aim assist function will turn for you, but it won't turn as fast as your maximum turn speed. If you're relying entirely on it without bothering to touch the right stick, it's possible to get out of the tracking area and into safety pretty fast... if you survive long enough to try and do so. |

So what your saying is, aim assist is only OP for people with two thumbs, gotcha.. It's entirely possible to have two thumbs and still play a game with only one.
My girlfriend used to play Assassin's Creed multiplayer from the kitchen while making dinner. Added bonus when she got the abusive guy on mic telling her to get back in the kitchen while she's already there. |
