The current matchmaking system in theory is perfect for this game. So that less people would get protostomped. But as of this morning it takes 5+ minutes searching for battle to be put in one with a squad. The only people getting in are anything under 5 in a squad. You can't force matchmaking like this WHEN THERE'S NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE ON YOUR GAME TO SUPPORT IT.
So much for playing in the morning. |

Lmfao - just saying if the matchmaker worked with their in-house QA testers (which is probably no more than two dozen)
I'd think it'd work for 7000 players. |

Also the combined game types are very frustrating.
I have 15 minutes to play before I have to go. I just want to play a quick ambush. I enter the public queue and get put in a Domination, which will likely take 30 mins. I quit out and try again.... get put into a Skirmish which will also likely take 30 mins. I check the time, and my time is up already and I have to go.
Edit: Oops, looks like I'm dumb and someone just pointed out that you can still select your game mode. |

Since math is in your topic. Lets do some okay? Currently there are 2,616 players on Dust.
Lets say we are going to treat all lobbies as exclusive lobbies. Also, lets ignore the academy and PC for now, because most people just logging on will have gone through it and won't want to mess with PC. Either way those numbers would reduce the population by no more than 10% is my guess. So we are going to divide our community evenly between:
Ambush Skirmish Domination Gal v Cal FW Min v Amarr FW
At a 20% distribution to each lobby that's 523 players in each lobby. Let's divide each pub lobby up into 3 tiers of competitiveness (high, medium, low)
There are now 174 players in each of the 9 possible public lobbies. Also, you can't deploy with people who are currently in a battle, so lets say that 50% of each lobby's population is currently in a battle.
That leaves 87 people in each of the public lobbies to match IF they want EXCLUSIVE lobby matching AND 75% fair matchmaking. THIS IS ONLY ENOUGH FOR 2 TEAMS. Then you throw in some squads that don't necessarily fit nice, and YOU SHOULD SEE HOW THIS GETS MESSY.
Bottom line: Stop being mad at math! |

Doesn't mean it was a good decision right? . Just mean they listen to people who know nothing about the product they make .
All these changes , nerfs ,buffs and re-works of weapons and vehicle just show they have no clue .
These are all things that should have been addressed months and months ago , now when they could be working on new content ... they are working on getting the game up to "par"
So time that the average gamer thinks is being spent on all this promised content is put on the backburner while they tweak the game , so they come back to a patched game with laughable new content but lots of buffs and nerfs .
That's called beta testing ...Im sorry , but plain and simple your all still just beta testing cause these guys have never played a shooter b4 I guess.
Click the ship then click your fire button , maybe you guys should have stuck to that and hired a company with some shooter backround .
It's F*&!ing amateur hour baby .
