Just got done with the my last battles of the night. I'm a KB/M user and I have some comments:
1) When I zoom in on any weapon, why the hell do I turn faster? This effectively removes the ability to play with the tactical AR. I don't use it often, but I tried it for one death and immediately swapped it out.
2) At the start of this latest patch, the inability to see anyone anywhere was really annoying. Now that I've had a chance to play with it a bit, I've adapted and enjoy it for the most part.
3) Touching again on the zoom thing - My biggest problem with this patch is how screwed up aiming is now. It's a sad state of affairs when I go to the breach AR just so I can stay in hip fire view at range.
4) I have noticed that proto sustainability has suffered. I am okay with this. I have 15 mil SP and lots of proto stuff, and as someone who plays mostly solo Ambush, thank you.
5) The game filters/voting/what-theF***-ever system for maps is junk. It still doesn't work well. Although, points to you for making sure that the people in my matches are not helpless rabbits that get mowed down easily. That has significantly improved.
6) These events are great and all, but the weekend exclusive thing... Please just make it all week so I don't have to play during odd hours just to get my rewards. Also and this is very important:
7) GIVE ME FEEDBACK ABOUT MY PROGRESS ON THESE EVENTS.
8) Hit detection is working, and I feel that once my AR fire can be adjusted with out shaking like a crack addict, I'll be able to get back to full-time AR usage. As things stand, I've put SP into proto sniper rifles to help keep my KD/R and wallet from taking a death dive.
9) Overall, ONCE YOU FIX AIMING IN GENERAL (forget auto aim, I want mine to simply work), this patch will actually be really awesome.
10) new maps are shiny and awesome - give me MOAR.
11) I still get stuck in match making. My team chat comes up, but I'm still sitting in my quarters. I log to another toon to fix it, but it's happed 3 times which is 3 times too many.
It's late, so forgive me if this is a jumble. I just wanted to drop my 2 cents in after actually playing the game for long enough to have an opinion. |

Another quick comment: I've seen a lot of hate on the mouse and keyboard folks. I have no idea why, because I get mowed down by people with game pads and people with KB/M. There's no balance problem between the two. I use KB/M, because that's the kind of shooter I am used to playing. Most of my corp uses controllers and some of them are considerably better at Dust than me.
If you think that KB/M vs controller is the problem at this point, I suspect it's because you're trying to find a way to explain why you aren't doing as well as other people. My only response is that this is Eve. Adapt or Die. With zoom aiming broken for the most part, I've adjusted accordingly and prevented my KD/R and wallet from dropping considerably.
Banning one type of control hardware will only force people to use adapters that would allow just as much if not more hardware based abuse than now. Stop beating that horse. It's in the ground sleeping peacefully and doesn't need to be drug up for any reason at this point. |

Its your own fault, you are too weak at game in general, if you cant play better than gamepad users with better controller. I played a lot among top ds3 players in battlefield 3. And i played a lot in dust 514 with ds3, but when i plugged mouse for test i was just shocked, its have too much advantage all the time in dust 514 (except situation in 6th of may with inputlag xD but it is fixed). 90% mouse users have low level of skill like you, but 2-3% of them have skill and they are almost invincible even for skilled ds3 users. 2-3% its hunderds of players, and top players prefer to stack to one corp almost always. So only way to balance it as i told earlier in this thread.
To imply that I am weak with a KB/M is a joke. I've played other games competitively (CS:S). I've played other games for fun - notably UT2004 instagib matches - hint: you can't have weak mouse skills and have fun in these games. You completely missed the point of my post. Teamwork - not personal skill alone - is required to win matches.
If you have an actual situation where one man downed your entire team in a match, solo with a KB/M, then come talk to me about how much KB/M is ruining the game. What you are likely seeing is a bunch of talented players grouping up and kicking ass. Join any corp that has districts to defend and ask them what they play with. We don't all use KB/M, and your solution to ban them would only serve to alienate a portion of the loyal player base. |

Chad Michael Murray wrote:Gave it some time before forming an opinion, but yeah, I'm loving 1.4 Especially the armor plate buff and the new maps but I have two issues. 1. Armor repair - Now that armor plates increase your health it takes even longer to repair it back. It'd be nice if the repair rate was buffed a bit. I feel shield > armor is still very much the same as before the only difference being you're not nearly as slow. 2. Aim-assist - While I personally don't mind it (or barely even notice it, tbh) toning it down to end the floods of QQ aimbot QQ would be heavenly. Then maybe all the so-called "pros" doing the whining will finally have to face the fact that they're just not good at the game. Also, Fenix Alexarr wrote: Lol, 1vs1 skilled mouse player better than skilled ds3 player. Its fact. 8vs8 skilled mouse players will better than skilled ds3 player. I didnt meant mixed team at all. Mixed team is fair play.. I wish you to meet mouse players team when most of your team are gamepad user. Always meet them. Then you, probably, will understand what i mean.
Strong players always stick to other strong players, so corps with a lot mouse players not rare.
p.s. and the hell with that game, i just dont play it while CCP dont make gamepad controls good quality. Or maybe i wont return at all, because they seems impotent to do it. What are you on about? KB/M doesn't automatically > gamepad. On average, yeah, kb/m users are better (in general, not just dust) but that doesn't mean they're better; it's just what they're used to/prefer using. It'd be like implying anyone skilled at fighting games who uses a fightstick is automatically better than someone who doesn't; complete and total nonsense. It's a preference as to what you like to use~
I'm mis-quoted here. This was said by someone else.

Indeed. "[To hell with this game]" coming out of your fingers is the best thing I've read all day. Your 'facts' cannot be backed up by anything but empirical evidence that you don't have. I've heard your argument time and time again, and quite frankly, I'm tired of addressing it only to be responded to with comments about how idiotic or unskilled I am.
Having to potentially play with someone that thinks like you is why Dust is in such sorry shape. It's a mentality that is a poison in MMO games in general. All games suffer from it, and I'll take 10 under skilled players willing to learn how to beat the 'twitch' style gamers in a non-twitch based game over 10 awesome twitch players with attitudes that make me want to vomit any day of the week. |
