Oh my god, I was hoping this patch would make them better but now they are even worse. Turrets render at approx 50 meters, didn't find a single foot soldier during one test match, I think they just didn't render cause I know I got kill assist for just blindly shooting at where I thought there could be enemies. The dropship camera is horrible, so hard to see where you are going cause your own dropship blocks your whole screen most of the time, landing is much harder now cause you cannot see properly what is beneath you.
That's what I found out in one test match cause that's all I had time for. Feel free to discuss.
PS. I know this probably belongs to feedback/suggestions but oh well...
PPS. At least I got into battle instantly. |

I really hope this camera isn't as bad as it supposedly is, I'm about to finish downloading it and I'll see for myself & reply here with what i find.
And if NPC turrets really do render at -50 ft now, Ima rage at CCP. |

Confirmed camera... its bad but i'm getting a bit used to it... the DS does take up most of the screen, its like, they promised me new thruster animations.... and with the new camera I cant even see and enjoy them. I do not like that at all. Camera itself isn't too bad, its the rendering, I cannot spot any enemies unless im all up in their face... my ADS doesn't use a shotty so it shouldn't act like it does. |

Hmmm, its kind of first person ish now. Pretty hard to see under your drop ship if you dont have time to adjust the view. Bumping around a little but not bad. Landing is a little harder but not impossible. Not sure about render distance on the turrets yet, gonna check them now.
Gonna try ADS ships now. |

Jesus christ i can't believe this, in order to compensate for all their new ****, CCP says "oh well just shorten the render distance for vehicles" so it won't be as much of a burden on these PS3's because they honestly can't handle a lot of CCP's coding... Well great, it'll be extremely hard to get kills at all in an ADS in this update. |

So wait, they took an aerial vehicle and reduced the area around it you can see while flying?

Personally it's not the new camera that bother me the most, as you can get used to it (but still wont be better than the old one).
It's the rendering distance cause at least in 1.3 you could still see the chevrons in the distance and head for them and then they would render when you get really close (less than 100 meters) but now they wont render now matter how close you are, unless you do something like, I dunno, land on their face?
And I was being shot by blaster turret installation 100 meters away from me and I couldn't see it, I was like wtf is shooting at me, I flew away, came back to check if there is still installation where it is at the start of the match, I got close, to around 70-80 meters, I was like "ok, so there isn't"... then I flew right past it and whaddya know? There it is. |

Okay guys, after playing my first match i can confirm there are MONUMENTAL flaws in this update for dropships. Specifically the camera, and forge guns. I was just in a match when i got hit by a FG and it took 2000 shield off my ADS (that has 4060 Shields) and guess what? It was a militia forge gun. Apparently they recently buffed forge gun dmg again in a silent patch note for 1.4, and that means that an advanced or proto can now 1 shot my proto ADS. I think I'm going to be absent from Dust for a while. This might be the last nail in the coffin for me |

That FG reading is false, my Breach FG is no more powerful than before, unless the militia has something I don't know about or you were hit with more than just one shot. |

I think the problem is that every patch that has come out so far has been geared towards infantry, so I imagine little testing was done to improve vehicle experience, which is sad, because when ever 1.5 comes out, it looks like the same will happen to infantry, hopefully things will get better. |
