Right now I'm looking at not being able to play until tomorrow evening sometime! Why do I have to redownload the entire game everytime you guys update it CCP? |

DUDE! Its free! Why are you complaining! You could multitask or something. Like there used to be a time, when people would get the newspaper in the morning and just chill with it while they ate breakfast. Or normal human beings wash their clothes in this washing machine thing, and also they clean their house. Occaisionally the homo sapien species are known to leave their recreational consoles and even their domicile to explore the hostile outdoors and "reallife" social nether-spaces.
You could start the download before doing any one of these things and be reasonably sure of the operation being finished before you get back. |

I litterally took that time to clean my sink, toilet, trim my neck-armpits-crotch-crack, take a dump, and the update and install finished just before I jumped in the shower.
TMI I know, but that's how I used my time, while waiting. |

I feel your pain, takes me ages too. Even worse when it reaches 98% and fails, requiring me to do it all over again... sometimes several times in a row.
1.3 was a normal patch size like every other game created for the PS3, and it was glorious. But all the other patches that I can remember have required the entire re-download of the game.
Sloppy and inconsistent programming is the only explanation I can come up with. They probably mess with the code so much, that it is easier for them to make us re-download the entire code rather than figure out how to append their changes to the now much different base-file. |

PSN is notoriously slow for more than a few people. I just can't see why they have to rebuild the entire game for a patch. |

Yea that happened to me with the last patch twice. I ended up deleting and downloading a fresh copy. Worked perfect other than the megadownload time from PSN. |

Has nothing to do with internet connection the last big update took me nearly a day 95% in 12min and then stucked at this leven for two hours after 4!!!! retries I finally managed to download that game. Downloding XCOm over PSN took just 25min and that was a 7GB game...
I don't know whats wrong with CCPs update mechanic or their integration with PSN but there is something up.
And a that this game is free is by no means an excusion as CCP wants our money (otherwise that game would fail from a financial aspect). All these troubles drive away new players why do we have to deal with so many obstacles just to enjoy this game  |

PSN can also cause problems. I've got a pretty good connection here. At max speed the download should have taken 12.8 minutes, my PS3 said it would take 34 minutes, it's now been nearly 2 hours and its at 86%. Not nearly as painfully slow as some people are experiencing but still annoying. |

Are you doing it wirelessly when you could have an Ethernet cable plugged in? 2.3GB would take me more than 6 hours over wireless (with a 50/50 chance of failing at the last second) but with an Ethernet it takes 20 minutes and is solid as a rock. |

It is a PSN problem. I've noticed that if I try and download a popular PS+ game on the day of release it'll be sloooow but a day or two later it'll be fine.. Hopefully for the people that have to wait hundreds of hours it'll start to speed up once less people are trying to download it. |

sadly for me it'll take the whole night and then some in the day. so i wont be able to play today will have to download the patch when i head off to bed and then leave it on through the night and the morning. and hopefully by the time i head back from work in the afternoon, the game would have completed its download. |

But I started downloading at 10 and its now 1. Its like 32kb/s 1% downloads every 5-7 min

Yea sorry IDK where I got that. I get about 10 mb/s Download speed on my Mac.
I have broadband DSL, as I said earlier.
It takes about .5 seconds to load most webpages on my computer. I can download mp3s in about 2 seconds. I just recently reinstalled my Mac OSX onto a new internal HD. It took about 1 hour to download all of the updates from apple for all of the software on my Mac.
It isn't my internet connection. |

The fact i can get that much proves that PSN aint punching me the download at full speed. Because when i run that test usually the download will stop me getting good test results. |

50Mb/s and 50MB/s are two VERY different things.
Also, 50Mb/s in advertising means that's the maximum potential connection speed, not a guarantee that your own connection at home will run that fast.

Also, yeah, PSN downloads are specifically tuned to NOT use up all your bandwidth. Not sure why. Maybe something about "we didn't want to stop you watching movies while you're shopping with us". Which is stupid, because if it only takes 2 minutes to download, we won't have time to watch a movie. We only have that time because PSN is set up stupidly. |

Well I'm redownloading the entire game.
Once I saw that the patch was 2+ GB I knew that the download would probably fail. So I deleted the game, and am downloading a fresh copy. The whole game is 2.6 GB. Why is the path 2 GB? |

I have the same issue, I feel your pain. Most of these jackoffs have never had 'bad' internet, so its not like our kind will get much sympathy. I think it'd be nice if they could just release a piece daily for a few days or so, but I don't know how Sony operates in terms of allowing companies to patch. 2304MB on the PSN's slow connection is just heartrendingly turtle. I've seen armor-tanked Sentinels move faster. |

Have you looked at the filesize after updating? Last time I checked mine it was about 7GB.
