Hello,
I have been playing dust and one of the most infuriating mechanics is the clone terminated / bleed out timer. This is a mechanic with very little documentation or explanation and is sometimes outright weird in play. I would like a Dev to explain this mechanic to us because I myself am very curious. I have some examples that are note worthy that I would like to share:
- There was a battle in which we where being murder taxi'd to oblivion. This is itself is commonplace at least one r twice a day but it was in this match that I noticed something specific. I had been hit by a very fast moving car but retained my bleed out timer. In this case all is good. After dying a couple of more times, and not being revived, a car hit me at a very very slow speed and killed me but this time, my clone was terminated.
- Damage: Now I have also noted that this mechanic somewhat ignores damage done, and yes I take into consideration headshots which terminate the clone instantly, but at times I get 1k damage done and still have a bleed out timer but upon getting hit for 15 damage by a very far away AR user, I am instantly terminated.
- Instant termination as I know it: Overkill, headshots, explosions. These are the ones I know about so please refrain from dismissing this post By simply posting oh yes you just got headshot that's all. Or maybe it was a mass driver. pLease note that I have been looking at this for a few months now and have been trying to weed out factor but I am at a loss as to what is deemed an instant termination and what warrants a bleedout when I have been hit for very little damage and still have been instantly terminated in a lot of situations where headshots and explosions or overkill where ruled out.
CCP please help me and the community understand this mechanic. We would really appreciate it. |

These are the only things that terminate a clone, that and someone shooting you once your dead. As a logi, it's my job to know these.
Yes I know this. It's in the original post. I just want the dev's to explain this because it seems to me there is something beyond these parameters that we are unaware of. |

i am aware of that too. i actually do this a lot. specially if the opponents are proto stomping |
