Before MD's get nerfed. Why? This is just my points, but i know people would come in to defend it.
- Splash damage is too wide and too consistent: For a weapon that does EXTRA dmg to armor, the radius of damage is too much, and from what I see the dmg is the same even on the very edge of the radius. Which makes no sense. Like grenades should also be, the explosive damage should be less the further you are away from the point of explosion. If that's how it's suppose to be now, then it's broken, and CCP need to look at it again, because nades and explosives in general are broken.
- There's no arm time for the projectile: The weapon is just a glorified shotgun atm. Jump and shoot because apparently when you jump you don't get hit because explosions magically don't travel upwards? So people run around with this thing like it's a shotgun, which I'm sure wasn't how the devs imagined this weapon to be, yet here we are.
- The screen shake is not needed: It's not enough the MD user doesn't have to aim? It's not enough the radius is ridiculous? It's not enough that it does more dmg to armor? It needs to knock people's aim off also? This feature is not needed.
Devs said they're waiting to see how 1.4 goes before deciding to nerf it... i mean "re-balance" it. Which means, they need more time to look at data.
Buff to armor means more people will see the MD as a viable solution so that = to more MD + nade spam. They said with the aiming "fix" they'll see how people deal with them. Well it won't do much good if people's aim is being shaken all over the place from the MD's knock effect. Not to mention the smoke. While the MD user doesn't HAVE to see his target to spam explosives and hit, every other weapon user NEED to see in order to hit the target.
I predict an imminent re-balance for this weapon. There's too much pro's to using it, and not enough con's.
No, I'm not an AR fan.
I suspect people will flood in here defending their FoTM choice, and that's cool. Just keep in mind that the Flaylock pistol, the Tact. Duvolle AR, the Caldari Logi suit, Contact grenades, were ALL considered "fine" and defended to the death by the people that used them. |

Lol a gun you dont even need to aim that dirupts your aim. Why didnt I ever think of that?

They just need to change explosive damage multipliers versus shields and armor... BAM its fixed without changing anything else about the weapon. I'd say 85/115 would seem to be about right. Also standard and breach should have their splash damage amounts switched as they don't really make sense. I use MD but prefer to use my GEK/M1 fit. |

Well said Lance. I pretty much agree with everything you said.
Smoke and screen shake just have to be removed. Damage falloff throughout the splash radius would be welcome as well.
If that happens I might reconsider my opinion of MDs needing to go back to 4 shots a clip. |

Personally i think the MD is fine. It does what it is supposed to do. I use every weapon in the game, even if they do get nerfed like every other ******** thing i specced into i will still use it like everything else.
HMG - nerfed TAC AR - nerfed FLAYLOCK - nerfed CALOGI suits - nerfed (just as i started to spec into them) Tanks - not even decent
I do agree to the nerfing of the TAC and the Flaylock. It was a shame people abused the Calogi suit :( As for the HMG i might as well throw drop-uplinks at people, the effective range is too short in my opinion, people just seem to walk through the spray like it was water...
No i did not spec into them because they were FotM, i specced into them to try all the weapons, i still use all the weapons, variety is the spice of life. |
