Last night was so funny--it all started with a negotiated PC where we would all play nice against a rather new player corp and only run basic <=T2 gear.
Of course in our corp this starts an entire tirade about--
- I never run less than proto
- What happens if they run proto
- I can't believe I have to do this sh*t
- /whaaaaaaa I'm a baby for proto
This is all in good humor of course.. it is funny how some get so attached to their proto gear when many of us run milita just to be as good as you can be, then proto is like glycerin. We just go bananas when we're geared up.
Regardless and with much back and forth we all dutifully load up with basic gear.
The match starts..
Why the other corp runs four tanks into a city infrastructure seems odd to all of us and we begin picking them off.. and enjoying watching more tanks spawn.. really.. really?
Then it's spotted. One of our corp mates falls to an MH82.. like a wildfire team chat lights up, everyone has spotted this and like a unisoned echo, proto loadouts, now.
I have never laughed so hard watching a swam of people hit the supply depot for a loadout change.
Quote:It was like watching a black friday k-mart special, I think a few people got stampeded in the transition. So I have no problems with restricting our loadouts and making deals for PC fairplay. We all have some honor in us. It was confusing enough to some of our team of what is this or does that qualify we were sure that someone on the other team might get equally confused. I do hope that future battle systems have negotiations attached some how so that if you want to have a restriction that is agreed upon in some parlay that it can be executed as such under either direct load control or some sort of penalty system. Some fun ideas creep into my head when you can think of how that can play out.
Regardless, it was a funny moment, and least to say clone out occurred quite rapidly thereafter.
I'm still not sure why so many tanks came out. I think we removed 8-10 over the course of the game. I know I got a helluva lot of tank related salvage. lol. |

Really they use a MH82 an advance heavy weapon and your whole team ran in fear. WTF, are you serious. MH82 is not that big of a deal. Now if they had used a Gatson or a Thale, then yes by all means use the proto. This goes to show how weak some teams are to rush to there crutch. Relax, calm down and take a breath its not the end of the world. MH82 is not that much of difference compared to a standard HMG. If they where really confident in there abilities they would have countered it with superior team work and would have moved on. Instead they freaked out and ran to get there crutches so they could support there weak game play. |

No one freaked out. It was like blood in the water of a frenetic nature. Yes, the team could have handled advanced gear. Don't over complicate breaking the rules. The rule was broken and your team would have done the same.
We had another match with basic last night, no one broke the rules, and the game was fine.
If you read beyond most of us run militia or basic all the time. We're not in the habit of Proto pub stomps like so many others... |

Would you have let it slip if it was an advanced plasma cannon? |
