Really I figure its insanely hard to score kills with them outside of stacking them a NULL cannon and even then you can avoid them by sweeping the point with AR or Grenades. |

You'd be surprised how effective this is. i did this to cover an object yesterday... 4 spawn points 1 RE... tons of fun watching 4 people stack on top of the RE to hack the objective. works in ambush ok but much better in DOM or skirmish where blues are less likely to spawn on them. |

First time you fall into a trap it's not your fault, if you keep falling into traps is your fault. RE are not OP, they are supposed to hit hard, they should be more powerful against installations, what is the sense of demolition skill if i need a ton of explosive to destroy installations (not turrets). They also need a little change, if you have already placed your explosive you should not wait for the bar to charge, the timer should be set on the explosive directly instead of the equipment switch. |

Considering they are meant to be destroying installations and vehicles they are actually very UP at the moment, their ability to kill infantry is a perk to be sure but never what it's meant for or should be balanced around. |

You'd be surprised how effective this is.
This becomes especially effective when you start to deal with darker map types and night moods wherein a remote explosive 'visually' disappears into the darker surroundings. People often become too eager in these cases to shoot the spawn-pad 'flashlight' before carefully looking around. |

CCP's new night mood in the 1.4 update may spell doom to people in a new way. I'll be eager to do some tests when it rolls out. |

Yes, at the moment they don't seem to appear at all with any type of scanning or LOS. If remotes are able to be scanned in 1.4, I would prefer advanced and proto-level RE's have lower scan profiles respectively. It would take a prototype scan tool to detect a prototype boundless remote explosive for example. |

Well, I disagree with your logic, a RE should be able to be scanned by an active scanner or any scanner, however, the distance recognized what it actually is should be based against your RE. Such as with a militia grade suit, would be nose on the RE, where as a proto scanner should be further out and something specially made to scan, aka an active scanner even militia grade would have around 15m of detection. Otherwise your making people who are not proto or advanced lvl just eat some more **** and smile.
It should be harder to scan with milita grade yes, just like it is harder to fight in combat, but it should never be impossible. Such as if I take a militia gun and try to kill someone in a proto suit, it is going to be hard, I will most likely die pathetically but it can be done. Though I will be very happy when RE's are going to be scannable by active scanner, I'll actually have a reason to put that mod on my vehicle or use it at all. Currently I took it off because it just helps blueberries and gives me nothing in return, well it gives me more cost when my LAV explodes cause I don't have a LLAV. |

I strongly disapprove of this threads title. I don't even need to read the thread. RE's are not OP because you either need to be stupid and/or blind to not see them being planted at your feet or dumb enough to be baited by the guy into his trap. Either way you suck and deserve to die. I'm drunk and I approve this message. |
