Funny, when I ran sagaris's with just about everything, I didn't make a single complaint.
I laugh when people say the marauders were so good, fact is they were still overpriced trash.
Every real tanker ran gunnys & maddys same as now. Then this build came along, and they took the PG skill away & gave a 10% inherent damage resistance skill...
Sigh..all the good tankers from back then are either gone now or respecced out of them.
Tanks weren't OP in chrome, the tankers were skilled.
And tanks aren't UP now, tankers are (mostly) bad these days and most skilled vets specced into proto AV, so the tankers are getting raped.

Sagaris and Surya were beasts, skill up them bad boys and you got more damage i think aswell as health in general, sure they were expensive in chromo but you needed 2-3 AV to take it down and co-ordinate which frankly they never did anyways hence why they got nerfed
The best counter to a tank, was another tank in them days but with the railguns how they were and dmg mods it was like still 2-3 shot any tank on the field
The marauders were SLIGHTLY better than STD tanks, since neither had anymore highs(for gunnys) and lows(for maddys)
BUT they had slightly better pg/cpu and slightly better HP than STD tanks. All at the cost of 1.2mil per hull, which made for 3mil per top of the line tank.
Oh and the marauders skill was the only thing that gave them damage bonuses, which was useless for sagaris(missles were even more garbo than now) and only slightly useful for the surya since blasters were practically obsolete because of all the mountain snipeing railguns, and the extra damage really wasn't needed for anti infantry. BUT OMG was the marauders skill overpiced JESUS. millions of sp for that ****.
But the real reason the STD tanks were better was because the best tank fits in the game were fittable on the STD tanks as well as the Marauders.
E.G. On a gunnlogi, fit 1 heavy az ext. 1 heavy shield booster, 1 surge act hardener, 2 ward pas hardeners, 2 high thoroughput stabilisers, and a compressed particle cannon.
You only need 1.2mil per fit, you 1 shot installations & 2 shot RDVs with only 2 damage mods needed.
Same fitting transfers over to ion cannon, but with pg exts. taking the place of damage mods.
And guess what the real point of the sagaris was from blam? With 3pg exts, and XT201 missle launchers you could fit 3 heavy modules, so 2 heavy shield boosters & a heavy shield ext, which was SLIGHTLY better than the fit i mentioned above, but you'd have those garbo missles. Or you could max marauders skill & stack 3 dmg mods and do over 6000 dmg per salvo, but you'd still get raped by a railgun on mountain.
