I was looking at all the players in this scout channel I'm in and a thought occurred. "Why not put the players' speccs on the player card?". Would be easier to recruit and organize squads when you don't have to outright ask them what they are running. This info could also be placed in the "social" section of the Neocom as "Specialists". You could search a spec (Scout, Logistics, Assault, Commando, Sentinel, Driver, Tanker, Pilot, [weapon type]) and get a list of all the players that have spent some points in that area. This would not include basic, un-speced variants (Standard light frame for example). Or you could select "Profile" to view all applicable categories for yourself.
Dropsuits Players must reach at least level 2 on a specialized dropsuit in order to be placed. The race isn't tracked so rather you get to level 2 as a MinLogi or a CalLogi, you will just be placed as a "Logistics". Only the first class that you spec into is visible on the player card (less clutter) but you will still show up in all applicable categories when using the "specialists" search. If you have yet to be placed in a category then on your player card next to "Specialty" there will be an "N/A".
Vehicles: First vehicle that reaches the required level will be placed on the player card. All applicable will still be available through the "Specialists" search.
- LAV: Must have at least level 2 in Logistics or scout (race doesn't matter) to be classified as a "Driver"
- HAV: Must have at least level 3 in HAVs to be classified as a "Tanker"
- AAV: Must have at least level 2 in Assault or Logistics dropships to be classified as a "Pilot"
Weapons Players must have there operations skill to level 5 in order to be classified. The first 2 weapons that you achieve level 5 operations with will be shown on the player card.
Classify/Block/Open You should also be able to restrict this information to certain players if you so choose.
Open = Anyone can see this info. Recommended if not in a real corp yet. Block = Only you and your alts are able to see this information. Classified = Restrict to Corp, Contacts, Alliance, Team, or squad (select all that apply).
Customize player Card What is shown on the player card is automatic but what if you decide you no longer like to snipe or use the scrambler pistol? Showing this on your player card because you speced into it first would be misleading right? So you should be able to switch out the applicable specs that appear on the player card (4 total).
Well that's my idea anyway and I'd like to know what you guys think. Good? Bad? Needs tweaking? let me know If you have another way of doing this all together then please poste as my mind is a curious one.
`Sigh. Just another fun game of DUST. |
