When restocking I'd like it to only restock the items I have fewest of.
Ex: Say I have 35 guns and shield extenders, but 38 of everything else. I do a restock and it adds 1 gun and 1 shield extender and not everything else
Sometimes there are 2 things I don't want to restock and everything else I do. Help my OCD from ruining game time. |

You can restock individual items, just edit the fit and select the desired items - the restock option should be right there. |

I'd still like it to just restock all items to the amount you wish without having to go in there and do it by hand. |

Yea, but if you have to restock like 7 items it gets annoying and tedious.
I want nice even numbers across all items without needing to go into the edit and up'ing one at a time.
This probably wouldn't be an issue if doing a "restock" actually did uniformly restock everything, sometimes I swear it misses an item or two. |

There used to be a "Restock entire fitting to" option way back in closed beta, don't know why it was removed tbh. |

This. (+1 Ryder.)
I'm OCD about having no more of a given item that what the total number of my fits demands. 20 HMG suits, 10 FG suits, 30 Flux grenades shared between the two.
Editing the fits and only buying the exact number of an item that I need when I'm creating the fit in the first place is how I do it. Then I just restock the whole fit from there, and I know for a fact if it says 20 of that fit available, I have exactly 20 of that fit available.
Getting salvage of items that I use regularly actually pisses me off. Puts all the numbers off.

I still don't know why they changed it ... now every time you get salvage of something you use ... you'll never actually use it unless you go in and individually restock x amount of everything else in every other fitting that uses what you salvaged.
Terrible idea ... Either give us that system back or at least give us the option ... "Buy x number of this fitting" or "Restock to a total of x fittings"
Edit : I remember now, it was to do with having multiple fittings using the same item ... restocking to 10 would give you 10 GEKs but if you used another fitting that had a GEK you wouldn't have 10 of this fitting anymore cos a GEK had gone ... the ideal fix would tag items to a fitting so restocking the other fitting to 10 wouldn't count those 10 GEKs as useable for this fitting so it would have to buy 10 more knowing that they were tagged for a different fitting. |

OP has a good point! A "Restock to XX items" would be a nice feature.
On the other hand, there seems to be quite a lot of players with OCD on this forum. ;) |

As someone who is also ocd about their fittings, i can only wonder what motivated them to spend dev time switching from the old system to what we have now. I can't find any advantage to the current restock mechanic over a 'restock to' function. It makes no sense to me. |

+1, the Restock To feature was a boon to those of us who use the same thing in multiple fits or weapons that are easily salvaged. |

Yea the ability to restock without having to do it manually would be great. I'll never understand some of the decisions they make. |

/me injects this thread with nanites ...
Now that you're deciding on stuff to work on for the New Year ... is this an easy task, to give us the options when we restock ... either 'buy x number' or 'stock x number' of a fitting. |

When I stock 50 of a suit and then 50 of another, I want to be able to use each 50 times, not use one 50 times and not be able to use the other because it stopped restocking an item that is shared between the sets because it deemed I "had enough" of them.
I'd like it as an alternative option, though.

I don't really care about having even numbers of items, but in the haste to restock fittings I'm always buying extra of certain things. As I've progressed in skills, I've unintentionally acquired all kinds of extras of gear I likely won't use again: militia and basic shield extenders, militia and basic armor plates, militia assault rifles, militia locus grenades.
When the player market does get up and running, will I even be able to fob this gear off on someone else? Or will it forever represent mis-spent, unrecoverable ISK?
OP has a good idea, IMHO. |

I do that too!
Well, if I check my fits I have to have enough of everything to have 100 exactly of the fit, which is really hard to do when you have some fits that use some of the same items...

Nobody said it was a priority ... and Yes, that is what I think needs dev time ... IF that time is 1 dev for an afternoon. The code may well still be there from when it worked this way before and adding an option in the UI to call that code rather than the new code COULD literally be an afternoons work for 1 dev.
It's about making a polished UI that lets YOU decide how you manage things. If you're not interested in using it you don't have to, you can be one of those that gets a game, tears open the box, rips out the CD, throws the box across the room, jams the CD in and mashes the start and X buttons until you can start shooting people.
As I said ... "is this an easy task" |
