Preliminary Caveat: I freely offer that I am biased as a Shotgunner. I'm also a Scout, so the slightest imbalance reduces me to goo.
Daily Observation: ARs and MDs are presently too effective in Close Quarters Combat.
Personal Opinion: A Shotgun within optimal range should dominate the aforementioned. No if, ands, or buts about it.
Humble Request: For Sweet-Baby-Jesus's sake, make the Shotgun a shotgun. Make the AR optimal at medium range rather than every range. Make the MD an instrument of area-denial.

Afterthought: No doubt there would be lots of tears and snot should Duvolle ARs fail to dominate CQC. I would point out that with negligible SP investment, the SMG is a highly effective counter to a careless Shotgunner. |

I kinda have to agree and I'm a Heavy not a shotgunner. They need to have a bit more range; maybe keep their "one shot kill" range the same, but if your hit within < 20 m you should feel it more than you do now. It's almost like there's a fine line between one shotting someone or tickling them. |

PS: Thanks a bunch for following through with the Squad-Sight changes. Also vehicle collision. Can't wait to play 1.4. I agree with the MD being to good for cqc, but the AR will lose to most of the sidearms in cqc. The MD is being looked at though, and will probably get a minimum arming distance from what I have read. I also would agree with the shotgun, but before major changes happen to it, hit detection needs to be improved first, that way ccp can gather true data on it. |
