Most of the crying in the last couple of months/weeks was the recent rise in unorthodox, yet effective, uses for some of the thingies we get in the game, from the ongoing murder taxi issues with LLAVs to the Forge Guns snipers and other occasional items being used in a particular way that wasnGÇÖt intended.
So the thing is: there's a problem with roles, from the roles of the mercs, to the roles of the gadgets and weapons we all use in the bf.
The problems comes when you, CCP, decides to make and give OHK weapons, and put it into the weapons category ergo you donGÇÖt give a choice cuz if the common player itGÇÖs presented with two weapons as the following: 1) Range: 100mts Damage: 50HP/round Cadency: 1000 rounds/minute 2) Range: 1000mts Damage: 1000HP/round Cadency: 100 rounds/minute She or he, will always pick weapon number 2, reasons are well on sight: from trying to make up for the real end all av fits have (cuz they are free kills to almost anyone), to the occasional/daily an accessible demigod mode (come on, one frikin hit kills). The point Im trying to make is: change is necessary cuz the recent situations are hurting the game and players in various places.
My proposal its making all the OHK weapons equipment, yes, and itGÇÖs not farfetched given that we already have explosives in that account, you could name it GÇ£AV equipmentGÇ¥ under equipment and rework them a little making the more powerful but less prompt to be used as ground troops killers and in return let the be more effective at its purpose, an easy and quick example would be lowering the shoots in the Forge Gun but equaling the damage and giving it a proper recharge time; itGÇÖs also important to point out that given the dropsuit in accord will be the type of AV weapon you can carry, this part being untouched from the way itGÇÖs going right now.
This simple yet adequate solution would make the GÇ£AV weaponsGÇ¥ dropsuits fits simply, inadequate for, and much harder to go on extensive kill streaks out of innocent bluedots on foot.
Also the vehicles should be retouched accordingly, cuz we all be packin madness.

Although the forge gun is an effective AV weapon, so too can be the mass driver. Both are weapons that splash and cause larger amounts of damage but have their place in this game. You are equating an OHK weapon with massive clone losses? Well there are answers to that, many people have no problem taking out forge gunners and mass driver users alike.
If you cannot deal with massive losses due to OHK issues maybe you need a better fitting, one that has more EHP and possibly slightly less damage. This is the meta game, where when push comes to shove you should be using either a better suit or a cheaper one (BPO).
There is nothing wrong with forge guns dealing massive damage to anything they hit. It's like a charge sniper rifle, massive damage but takes time to get your shot ready. Finding a balance point on your fit that is both cost effective and Isk effective is a challenge everyone faces, don't worry about the OHK weapons, they are working as intended.
Just a fun little factoid to leave you with. A forge gun is not described as an AV weapon or an Infantry killer but rather as a weapon meant to do damage to targets it hits. Welcome to New Eden. |

Look IGÇÖve have heard that argument before however my approach wasnGÇÖt a cry or something similar; but that aside some of you guys are really deluded, you think that the weapons are true to their descriptions, heck they could have put GÇ£this is a pony shi**** rainbowsGÇ¥ when in practice (in gameplay) itGÇÖs the frickin LR, come on it says 2500 mts per sec in the sniper rifle description but the shoots are delayed for almost 2 secs, what Im trying to say itGÇÖs that you canGÇÖt have RPGGÇÖs or Forge Guns as primary weapons (being semiautomatic- with plenty ammo, more than 1 or 2 rounds-high accuracy) cuz really ruins it for the rest of the guns, especially since in this game there's nanohives and supply depots making them even more effective.
I might know what you want, maybe some sort of game where we all use the assault or the rest of forge variants, cuz thatGÇÖs where we are heading, just look the flavors; but I donGÇÖt want that cuz I liked Dust so much before these whole situations, and the problem is that roles arenGÇÖt defined and there are too much voids, for instance you saying the FG itGÇÖs some sort of GÇ£okGÇ¥ weapon, really well balanced and stuff; recently thereGÇÖs been a ongoing exploit of the unforeseen and the mistakes CCP has committed, put that as premise and your comment isnGÇÖt helpful at all.
Not proposing a buffs nor nerfs, so chill out dude; also Im not having troubles whit nothing, Im just trying to make this whole fiasco less stupid, cuz even the charge sniper rifle cant OHK all frames.
Btw, you donGÇÖt seem to have a clue about whatGÇÖs going on whit the game right, you are looking at things from a really narrow perspective, just feel from the side of a newbie or someone who isnGÇÖt you, or anyone constantly using the AR, the Kb/M, the Forge Gun, the MD, etc; its prompting use of those one thus making Dust a failure.
Im going to leave you with an interesting question: If things are sooooo good why the playerbase hasnGÇÖt increased or why does so much players, veterans from closed beta or regulars since open beta, have left?
